  1. That's pretty cool that they do that. Wish I'd had the chance to participate. Maybe next week.
  2. Bringing wife and 2 kids, plus one bun is the oven. can we count that towards attendance?
  3. NT - 21 SMU - 17 Hope it's not that close, but at this point, I'll take ANY win.
  4. I was very excited to see this guy bring in some tough catches all game long. Including the pretty big one on the 80 yard drive. With a healthy Quinn and Jackson, I think folks are going to have to watch out for the passing game this year. We threw the ball a LOT more than in prior years. Hopefully that means good things for the rest of the season. GMG!!! PS - We should go with WIlson against SMU.
  5. Way to go PC!!!! That he was traded for an undiclosed Draft Pick just tells me that all parties involved recognize that he's at LEAST good enough to be drafted. THAT IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!! GMG!!!
  6. I'm so pumped about the start of the season. I can't get any work done, so I thought I'd start a thread about nothing. NORTH!!!!!
  7. Kindle went to my high school. I've been watching him the last few years, and was kind of hoping that he'd get to play so I could see him. I guess I'll have to watch another UT game at some point.
  8. Article from MeanGreenSports.com DENTON, Tex. (8/31/06) – In dramatic fashion senior Kristen Campbell scored the game-winning goal to lift the North Texas (2-0) women’s soccer team past Houston 2-1 in overtime from the North Texas soccer field. Campbell took a feed from Kelli Lunsford 91 seconds into the extra frame and fired a laser past Houston (2-1) goalkeeper Shelby Scott from 15 yards out. Campbell’s heroics extend the North Texas unbeaten streak at home to 15 games. North Texas had to rally to remain perfect on the year in a physical match from the onset. Houston scored first in the 37th minute as Jordan Godbolt knocked a header in off a corner kick from Sophia Mundy. The Cougars carried a 1-0 lead into the second half until the Mean Green began to swing the momentum. True freshman Kendall Juett knotted the game up at 1-1 when she sliced through the Houston defense and scored from the top of the box in the 68th minute of play. Both teams had their chances in the final 22 minutes of play but could not score. The overtime frame brought North Texas into the Cougar end of the field quickly, culminating in the Campbell game-winning goal. The Mean Green outshot the Cougars 17-13 and goalkeeper Kandice Ellis made three saves on the night to pick up the win. North Texas is 2-0 to start the season for the sixth time in school history. North Texas returns to action on Sunday, Sept. 3, at 1 p.m. with a match against metroplex rival SMU.
  9. Weren't we supposed to have the new Kelly Green for this year's uniforms?
  10. I was hoping for Wilson to get the nod, just to see a differnt style of offense......until yesterday. Last night, I got home from work and there was a letter to my 4 year old daughter "from Scrappy". It named her Junior Mean Green Club buddy as one Mr. Matt Phillips. I had a great time telling her how cool it was to have The Starting QB as her buddy, and that we'd have to get his autograph this season. She seemed excited about having the Quarterback.........Then she said she needed lots of quarters to help him. I think it was all just a ploy to get money out of me.
  11. Alright - with less than a week to go, I'll get this going. Also what will our first play on offense be? (Really wanted to say offensive play, but that can be taken too many ways) North Texas - 10 UT - 45 First play from scrimmage? Play action to J-Mo. Then pass to Muzzy on a short slant for 4 yards. GMG!!!!
  12. I agree. Katie said I'm allowed to have "a few" beers. Who's definition of "a few" will we use? Guess she'll find out.
  13. Schedule says it's tomorrow night? I had permission to go if it was a morning scrimmage. Tomorrow night I'm heading to Garland to watch the greatness of Beerman. It'll be like tailgating without the football game.
  14. It has to be. The back of Clark is all under construction for the new Dorms. When I started at North Texas, I thought that Hotel was part of the Hotel/Restaurant Management program.
  15. I was up in Denton on Wednesday, and was impressed with the large banners on the street corners giving the entire 2006 Football schedule. As well as "Think Green" yardsigns spread all over town. They're doing something. GMG!!!
  16. Give me 3-1 with 1 abstension or give me death!!!!!!
  17. 31 I was just wondering about this as well after reading about all the parents on the board, and how most of us are just starting the family. That bodes well for the future I think, since it shows the younger generation is "buying into" the program.
  18. 2 Daughters Trinity - 4 on Sept 5th Emory - 18 months Trinity knows the fight song and gets excited anytime we get something with Scrappy on it. We cued the Marvin Gaye music back in April and now have our "Last Installment" on the way. I'm about 80% sure it'll be another girl, but we'll find out in another month. I'll be dragging them all to the games this fall.
  19. This is a really good article. Makes me proud to be a JOHNNY QUINN HOOLIGAN!!!!!
  20. I just know I'm going to hear a bunch of good things about the practice, and what a great season it's going to be. If only someone would get on here and tell me that.
  21. Where did you hear this? I can't find anything about it. I've got to show my Packer co-worker so he can start crying.
  22. I just don't see them keeping an extra Running Back on the roster with what they have now. I'd look for Cobbs to be released and picked up pretty quick in another few weeks.
