  1. I think Austin has looked good today. Looks like Seth is fighting and showing courage today.
  2. Wow you were not kidding. I had no idea this site kept records back to when it started. The sarch feature can uncover some crazy posts from decades ago lol.
  3. INSTEAD OF A bank vault or a Brink's truck, the betting slips from what could be the largest payout in sports gambling history are being guarded by nothing more than an old, tattered Houston Astros backpack. On a recent Tuesday afternoon in Houston, with the MLB playoffs about to begin, the faded blue nylon bag -- its contents worth potentially millions -- sits on the floor of the massive Gallery Furniture showroom, just within arm's reach of its owner: the Houston furniture magnate and Astros superfan Jim McIngvale, better known around these parts and in the world of high-stakes sports gambling as Mattress Mack. Lanky and seemingly equal parts ears, teeth, cowboy boots and charisma, McIngvale has been a household name in Houston for decades thanks to his wacky TV commercials and his Ross Perot delivery. "I just have what you might call a high tolerance for risk," McIngvale says. "Damon Runyon said 'All horse players die broke.' And I know I shouldn't bet with my heart, but it's hard not to and it's a lot more fun." In 2017, McIngvale gained national attention for opening his doors and sheltering hundreds of victims of Hurricane Harvey for weeks inside his furniture showroom, something he also did after Hurricane Katrina years prior. After the storm, as the Astros continued their historic run to the 2017 World Series, McIngvale was in the news yet again, this time for an only-in-Texas furniture promotion through which anyone who bought a mattress from Gallery Furniture would get it for free if the Astros won it all. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/34870415/houston-astros-superfan-mattress-mack-lose-no-matter-wins-world-series
  4. I sort of see the Rice game as being Seth's last stand and very impactful to his future career whether he satys at North Texas or not. To the outside world, that thinks North Texas is a barren wasteland, it would be very impressive to see how many bowls he led us to. I could honestly see him get another HC gig like say that coach at Ohio or at Texas A&M Commerce etc.
  5. I appreciate your optimism but worry that beating WKU on the road will be tough. Does anyone know the last time we beat them on the road?
  6. I was one that agreed with Wren to give Seth the season but now I am seeing our direct competitors in the American who are making moves sooner which means they will get conversations with the best candidates sooner. I am now fully in the camp that we need to make a decision on Seth sooner than later!
  7. And Charlotte has the courage to fire Will Healy because they want to compete in the American and they are not willing to hem and haw about what to do and when to do it. Wren keeps saying that he owes it to Littrell to give him the entire season yet tons of other programs see differently.
  8. So you’re saying you’re ok with mediocrity? Here’s a program that made a move a lot sooner than we did. Seems like they are taking the move to The American quite seriously.
  9. I’m pretty sure Tommy Bush may be. Didn’t see him at all last couple of games.
  10. Leave it to Vito to poke the fans with this crap. UTSA is NOT our rival and they never will be. They are a glorified junior college with a CarMax salesman head coach. Our rival has and always will be SMU and you know it @Brett Vito
  11. Are there not enough good players in Texas? This is weird to me.
  12. DENTON, Texas – Louisiana Tech suffered its first conference loss of the season, falling 47-27 to North Texas on Saturday afternoon at Apogee Stadium. LA Tech (2-4, 1-1 C-USA) got behind 21-3 just 17 minutes into the game. However, behind the arm of Parker McNeail, the Bulldogs managed to claw their way back in by making it a one-possession game at 34-27 with one quarter to go. However, North Texas (4-3, 2-0 C-USA) continued to pound the ball on the ground in route to outscoring the ‘Dogs 17-0 in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach. The Mean Green scored early and scored fast, taking just 10 total plays to amass 21 points (included a 51-yard touchdown reception and a 92-yard rush). read more: https://bossierpress.com/college-football-tech-falls-to-north-texas/
  13. I think he agrees but OP stated that recruiting would suffer if Littrell stayed without any extension.
  14. You make some good points but do we want to win or just play the game is what it comes down to. Arkansas is ok with having Briles on staff.
  15. Littrell back down to #23. Almost has worked his way off the list! https://coacheshotseat.com/
  16. Cobbs is too young but he should be retained no matter who the head coach is. As far as the Head Coaching candidates go I’m really finding myself warming up to Coby Carthel. I think he might be the one.
