  1. Tre Siggers, former star RB at UNT who transferred up to SMU and started calling himself "Big D Sig", will have a shot at more carries now that Bentley has left. He already carried a significant load and had great production, and will be primed for more.
  2. Sorry we interrupted your schadenfreude with facts
  3. If he really signs, and if he's really recovered from his injury (both SMU and Alabama sides believe both to be true) it could be a program-transforming event. I highly recommend it.
  4. Odd response. I haven't said anything negative about Bentley. Great back. Once you see this transfer, if he signs, you'll understand.
  5. Jank is an average coach. He uses a super creampuff schedule to prop up his record. He is not moving up if he even wants to keep coaching.
  6. Sucks to lose him, but a big transfer likely to sign is probably the cause. Pick him up if you can, but he expects to be in a top conference
  7. If you have a coach worth hiring off one day, you'll understand.
  8. Looks like a done deal. The froggies are going to have a bigger meltdown than the UNT students in that disturbing "UNT Student Mass Psychosis" video that's trending on Twitter right now.
  9. Sometimes I wonder if all SMU related news on this site comes from Infowars. How many AAC teams do you see on the list? Now ask yourself if the teams you match up with makes this more likely to be a coordinated effort to insult UNT or is it more like a sign of respect?
  10. You could easily have a decent NIL program going. If you read what industry people say, not what hysterical news articles say, the NIL amounts are not crazy outside of the top 1% of talent. For top spenders this just took the old under the table money out to the open. The real change is that it allows the majority of schools, who were not doing that kind of cheating, a chance to compete. The posters on this board alone kicking in $100/month could make a huge difference. The guy who used to own Pancho's is a UNT alum, go hit that guy up. Please get your act together before changing conferences
  11. Interesting, we have need of depth at this position at SMU. I wonder if they would like to get compensated for their Names, Images, and Likenesses?
  12. I live in Denton. I can't scoreboard anyone who doesn't live in Mesquite.
  13. Y'all are quite whacky. We aren't talking billionaire money here. If just the posters on this board devote some monthly fun money, say $500-$1000 per month it would make a big difference. You blow twice that on date nights and weekend activities with the kids anyway, just put it to good use. It would make a huge difference to your program. And look at the good it does. Take this guy, top 20 WR prospect coming out of HS, did well but got crossways with the new head coach and needs a new start. How's he going to make up for the under the table money he gets at UT? In the old days he couldn't and would be stuck, or broke. Now he can leverage his name and image and keep his finances stable with a new start at SMU, 100% clean. Win win all around. https://www.dallasnews.com/sports/smu-mustangs/2022/01/24/former-texas-receiver-joshua-moore-announces-transfer-to-smu/
  14. A great coach is also not turning Rice onto a championship contender without talent upgrade. At the end of the day the best coaching cannot create generate speed, at inches of height, or create athleticism where it doesn't exist.
  15. Unless you're talking about wildly incompetent coaching, recruiting matters WAY more than coaching. A lot of coaches look like X and O geniuses the second they hire a great recruiter on staff
  16. It doesn't look any taller than the existing press box, so there wouldn't be any issue with the city.
  17. It's not about seats, even we know they won't get filled as things are today. Granted it's a lot of suites they will sell for revenue, and most of the facility is needed upgraded weight rooms training tables, meeting space, etc., this has to signal SMU thinks they have an actual chance to move up in conference. Even if we did sell out the seats, this kind of thing is not sustainable with the bag of beads and free Chili's appetizer we're going to be getting from the AAC. And this is just a part of the giant bag of booster money that has been flowing in. Why now?
  18. I would normally not dump this here but since we'll, supposedly, be in the same conference by the time this is finished it's relevant https://www.dallasnews.com/sports/smu-mustangs/2022/01/21/smu-kick-starts-ford-stadium-expansion-after-alumnus-ponies-up-50-million/
  19. Prepare to go hammer down full tilt boogie in the left lane. You'll have to change your mascot to the red bull bull
  20. Littrell is done guys. Whether his fault or not, momentum is gone. 1. Why was he not more successful? What held him back? School admin? Assistant coaches? (Choice? Funding?) Etc. 2. I assumed Chad Morris parked at Allen HS to wait for the UNT opening. Anything happening there?
  21. You can do way better than Bennett as HC. It is true he didn't have a fair shake in admitting athletes at SMU, but he had some really bonehead decisions. And his D wasn't very good either. And he was not good with boosters. Just not a fit at HC.
  22. I live in Denton. That should tell you you're not far off
