Take for instance Grant Calcaterra. 4 star TE, went to OU, wants a change and to go back home. Just transferred to SMU. He's from southern California, but we don't hold that against him and we have a significant student population from there, so it is LIKE going home.

It's odd to me nobody is asking what we are doing to get ahead. It's easy, you could copy it. Just load up on transfers. Build a pipeline to scoop the top talent of local lower tier schools and mix in a some transfers from Big12 or SEC schools looking to move back to DFW. Why aren't you doing it? Is your staff just bad at selling it have you not found a way to make UNT a desirable destination?

Not according to Siggers. I guess he identifies with SMU and the general Dallas area better.

I just don't get that mentality. You can't consider ALL other DI FBS schools a rival. We have to work together. Save the hate for your 2 or 3 real traditional rivals, and we can work together against the P5 types.

It's a process. That's helps you too, eventually. Support it.

Siggers is from Duncanville. The Duncanville's coach's son is on staff at SMU and there is a pipeline there. I'm sure he knew if he wasn't to go to SMU before he ever got the call. No need to think about it.

I know we've played against each other a lot lately but what's with the animosity? I look to all AAC or G4 schools to succeed unless they are rivals like Houston or Memphis or similar. We don't compete in conference, or generally for the same recruit level, or even the same student demographic. We should support each other.

You have to feel good for a local kid coming home and moving up. Not like he's going somewhere in conference. I'm sure you're bringing in your own transfers too

Interesting how the game is changing. I understand the fear over losing talent to us, with us being local to a lot of your recruiting. But what rival is picking off your talent? Sad to see in conference poaching starting.

Hey y'all, what a surprise to get another transfer this morning. Hopefully y'all are loading up on transfers too. What can you tell me about Siggers? Strengths/weaknesses? Why is he transferring? Coach beef or just wanting to come back to the local hometown school?
