  1. i was bringing this up before the season... I thought even though it would have hurt to have Fine RS this year, and then start game 1 next year that would have been better. Better talent and a kid that has spent an entire year in the offense plus a staff that has been around for a year and it also allows us to present to other GRAD Transfers and transfers as well you will play here if your good enough. Now we will get only 3 and half or even less. But year question, is Morris has more "college" experience as in playing in hostile(even if he was on the bench the C-USA is nothing close to the SEC) and playing on a winning team. I personly would have liked it seeing Fine come in and start day 1 next year and take the bumps and bruises that we run into this year and let Fine see how someone like Morris bounces back, but now I wonder how Morris feels? Was Fine part of the gameplan for SMU? or was it because Morris under-performed? Something else? These are questions that we(the fans) will not know but the team does.
  2. http://www.hudl.com/athlete/3048884/cody-roscoe This kid has some power to get through and around the OL and descent speed as well according to his HUDL.would be nice to get him with HamBone
  3. Would like to add this kid... let him come in and try at QB and if it doesn't work out he could move to WR/RB..
  4. Spot on... Davis had a big advantage compared to Morris... Not so much in skill set but just in playing and not having the rust.. Also, I think the Defense may have played a little to amped up for this game. UNT was solid at times, but other times they didn't seem in Sync which is to be expected with a young team and new coaches. Also... Hamilton looks like he could be a very solid player down the line... Saw him bullrush the LT for SMU and pushed him into Davis. Fine as well looked good
  5. I agree with this... This should enpower and give Seth and Wren hopefully alot more $ to spend and build this program.
  6. Maybe Mosley will bring some ideas on ways to pay tribute and help expand the image of UNT Sports from his time down at the Texas Hall of Fame... Also, maybe a great time to talk to Wren and Jared about that statue of Mean Joe. But I do think this a great hire, adding more people around Wren that have been in control of Athletic Departments and other Athletic Businesses are only going to help Wren and this staff.
  7. He just retweeted about him prevailing with #UNT... Anyone know if he got in now?
  8. I was about to ask if we had heard anything about O'haras WR.. but that solved it.
  9. your able to do either IRR or Reg. Resevere
  10. UNT can get the stuff quick, I applied on a Monday, had my previous colleges send in the paperwork and I knew by Thursday and was able to do Orientation the next day(this was 2 weeks ago). What I'm wondering is, if he doesn't get into UNT for the fall, would he attend NCTC for the semester then transfer into UNT in December, so he doesn't use up another year of his playing time?
  11. Honestly if he hasn't been able to qualify, i doubt an type of appeal will change that...
  12. lol give it some time, and he will end up coming to UNT
  13. I created this post because of all the talk with the Big 12. I do understand why so many people would like to go to the Big 12, but I have posted in others sections about how we shouldn't wanna joing the Big 12. As of right now the Big 12 is the 4 or 5th best Conference behind SEC, Big10, Pac12.. with Big12/ACC fighting for slot #4. UNT has something that alot of other programs that are wanting to move don't have... That is a top 5/10 Media market with a huge Alumni base that is in DFW. Also, every conference wants to play in DFW because of the # of recruits come out the area. Don't you think the SEC or PAC 12 would love to be able to bring in their schools and play in DFW on a routine basis instead of playing at Jerryworld once a year? With that being said, Yes UNT has down right terrible when it comes to Football/Basketball, but I do think UNT could bring up the exposure these conferences would get in DFW with the fan bases(easy to get games as well for visiting fans as well), plus with our recent Academic Status we could bring that up... That alone I don't think can get us into either the SEC or PAC12, and this I where I think Wren Baker can help us, is that he finds a school that could join either the SEC or PAC12, some names that have been rumored to the big 12 that could be of interest could be UNT to the Pac12 with Colorado State(possibly even Boise State.) UNT provides the big media market while the other program provides an avg media market plus a descent athletic program. For the SEC we could partner with someone like Memphis(Former Baker school) for the SEC. Memphis is a up and coming Program that has an above avg. media market as well, but if the SEC isn't in favor of adding a 3rd Tennessee School, we could turn to Cinny which could help with recruiting up north for the SEC, while the SEC then play in the back yard of Big10. I know that this is wishful, and the only reason this was created was because of the people wanting to join the Big12.. The Big12 in my view is a conference that is slowly dying and we will be left out or given another slight upgrade by default... We should be and need to be out pressing and offering UNT to the SEC and Pac12... Because right now, TCU isn't thinking about life after the Big12, and SMU is not interested in the SEC since the SEC has lower academic standard then they would like(also, UNT has a much larger Alumni Base.)
  14. may have been better for him to been around after he had qualified instead of coming around when he shoulda been focusing on the books..
  15. Could it also be, that its at 9am on a Saturday, and people that are off.. I live in colleyville, as much as I would like to go see a game, its just a scrimmage and not waking up at 8:20-8:40 to drive up to watch..
  16. wonder if he improves his grades, if Raveon would join us in the Spring...
  17. UNT needs to find a partner for a package deal.. Maybe Colorado State for the PAC12 and Memphis(Because of Bakers connections) and offer UNT +1 to each conference... The other college would bring in a more competitive athletic program while UNT brings in the Top5/10 market. We need to forget about the Big12... Its a sinking ship and the Big12 wants to keep its big schools happy(UT, OU, TCU, OSU,KAS(only during basketball)), the big12 doesn't care about the others... the others are just sticking with the big12 bc of the $, and we should easliy beat schools like Baylor, and Tech because of the fan base, market, and troubles with Baylor...
  18. I agree with the Pac12 trying to come into TX, but UNT would have to pay alot more in travel if we join the Pac12. What i mean by travel is we would have to travel farther for Division games, but I think UNT would still take whatever the PAC12 offers them money-wise. Also, I'm not sure how fans would feel about the time differences(would anyone have any worries?). UNT needs to bring this up, because SMU is more likely to prefer the PAC12 than the SEC. UNT has a much larger Alumni base that is in the area, and could lead to a bidding/ reward war between the 2 mega conferences...
  19. I'm pretty sure UNT in terms of sports, we all would be okay becoming the new Vandy or another whooping boy for the Pac12. UNT needs/could sale this.. DFW is a Top 5/Top 10 media market, UNT is top 25 colleges in the US in terms of # of students, and UNT has a huge fan base.. The SEC or Pac12 could instantly come into DFW with UNT and take the arear away from the Big12. What I have heard is schoosl don't want to join the SEC because of the academic side is weaker, but outstanding sports, while the Pac12 is the opposite with focusing on Academics followed by sports.. Another thing, with Baker.. Maybe he can make a few calls around to people at Mizzou and other schools in the SEC for a few favors... (also, with UNT given the SEC or Pac12 the ability to play in the DFW area, I bet the conferences would have no problem paying the exit fee for C-USA)
  20. Shouldn't be asking the Big12, should be asking the SEC and Pac12 which have had thoughts of expanding again... Both the SEC and Pac12 should be interested at least or be willing to hold a meeting with UNT, because could bring them a slice of the DFW market in terms of Alumi, but also letting SEC/Pac12 teams play here as well and getting a slice of the DFW Media Market. That is why Colorado went to the Pac-12, was so the Pac12 could get another major media market in Denver.. Also, I would think both conferences maybe willing to over look UNT in athletics because of the academic honors and the DFW market, but this isn't likely to happen.
  21. Can we admit our top 3 recruits from this class wont be on campus now
  22. UNT should be offering to SEC and Pac12... Both of those Conf. I bet have interested in getting into the DFW Market for viewers and recruits.
  23. I hope his Scholarship counts against another previous year and not 2017 with us using it on so many blue-shirts
  24. with him being a grad transfer, where does his scholarship count?
