  1. Twitter folks should retweet me or do something similar. We have to spread the word. General student population isn't aware? Make them aware. I guarantee you if it's on twitter it'll spread like wildfire.
  2. A whole 15 minutes? That's impressive But I wouldn't want to stroke UNT90's ego anymore than he already does....
  3. While we're at it, I think we should hire Art Briles as a QB coach.
  4. If Spavital convinced Kyle Allen, the number one QB prospect in the nation, to follow him to North Texas I would worship the ground he walked on. Point is, it ain't gonna happen.
  5. Well I've decided since everyone around here is doom and gloom about everything and we haven't done one of these in a while, I decided to have a bit of fun: http://www.utsports.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/tenn-m-footbl-mtt.html Jalen Reeves-Maybin and Mekhi Phifer from 8 Mile Quay Picou and Coach Klein I think we could all use a few laughs so let's see what you got
  6. Strengths: We have a pretty solid safety duo that does a good job most of the time Weaknesses: D-line gets blown of the ball too easily, not enough size. Linebackers are small and slow, and because of the line not eating up blocks they can't make plays so our safeties make up for it. Young, inexperienced corners that will make mistakes. In short: Expect to see our safeties record 30+ tackles combined
  7. After being a P5 OC there's no way in hell he would be one here. He's tasted the P5 glory, so it's either a lateral move(P5 OC), or upward move in position at a lesser school(HC at a G5). I personally don't care to have him if Riley and Norvell are still candidates.
  8. It's incredible to me the amount of P5 schools we have in the state/neighboring states that are only a few hours drive away OK StateOUTexas A&MTUTexas TechLSUHouston(Not a P5, but still a viable option)And yet we cannot schedule a single home and home with any of these? Not only would it bring more people to apogee, it would cut down on travel costs. There is no reason we shouldn't be having a home and home with one of these schools at least every couple of seasons. I don't want to fly to Alabama and watch them hang 80 on us in Tuscaloosa, and I don't think there are many others that would either. How NutsaCK got a home and home with both Arizona and OK State is beyond me. Their AD is doing scheduling right, while we continue to take it up the pooper twice a year for a paycheck.
  9. I like Babers. I think a lot of us would like to have him here. I seriously don't think he has any interest in coming here though. It wouldn't even be a lateral move, he would be downgrading. Why leave Bowling Green where you have established your staff, your system, your players, your recruiting, your development for a dumpster fire looking to rebuild from the ground up? Unless he just really wants to work his ass off to get results for double the pay I don't think he's coming.
  10. I wholeheartedly agree. I thinking more along the lines of Dan McCarney - The Human Broken Record.
  11. At least Canales recognizes the problem. I'm not saying he's the answer. But you would never hear Mac say "We haven't recruited very well, and we haven't developed the talent we have very well". He would just say "Iowa is a great football team." The number one priority in the new coach should be recruiting and talent development. Period
  12. Would take him in a heartbeat. His success at La Tech shows he knows how to gather a staff with limited resources, find the players he wants and gets them. I think he could have just as much, if not more success here.
  13. Don't know Yurcich very well, but I have been to several OSU games this year, and their offense is methodical, but precise. They predominantly run JW Walsh(Guyer product) in goal line sets as a run/pass option guy because he can run better than Rudolph(starter). Lots of Pistol, Spread. They run the ball extremely well out of the spread. It's not a super explosive offense IMO but it's damn effective when it needs to be. Wonder what his recruiting is like. I would interview him. Leave no stone unturned
  14. Yeah, best friend is a Senior at A&M. Says Spavital has some really questionable play calling and isn't producing well with the amount of talent they have. I think Kingsbury/Sumlin had more to do with A&M's recent offensive success than Spavital did. Most A&M fans want him gone
  15. He helped put La Tech back on the map. He's only 45, definitely has good offenses, and Texas ties. Highly unlikely, but I'd take him.
  16. I knew I instantly liked him when I heard him talk. Sounds like me, like he's from Texas. Not some yankee from Iowa
  17. I've known this for about a week now, but it definitely helps having official word of it to validate the truthfulness from multiple sources.
  18. Don't worry, (I'm assuming) you're not a big money donor, so he'll just laugh at you. The common diehard fan doesn't matter to him or the athletic department.
  19. I do already donate for academics, but I'm not donating towards athletics until I can see a positive change. For example, some accountability and the occasional hiring of a good coach would help.
  20. I graduated in August. Have yet to receive an effort towards reaching out to me., and I suspect it's the same for the majority of recent Alumni. I would donate if someone reached out to me, if they were interested in me. But I don't make 7 figures a year so I don't matter right? There's an average graduation rate of 47%(Approximate) of students at UNT, this means 17,390 students graduate on a yearly basis, the 2015 graduate rate are $25, many of which could give more(I know I could). That comes out to $435K in donations from recent grads alone. But we aren't big money donors so who gives a crap right? My only complaint is that the AD hasn't reached out to young alumni early and often, and therefore don't generate nearly as much interest. I wonder what our home games would look like if the AD had reached out to everyone that had graduated soon after their graduation dates? 2011 grads would be paying $125 each, and at 17k students that's a cool $2.1 million in donations. Enough to buyout a crappy head coach when we fire him midseason. But nah, it's not 6 figures plus per person. So who cares?
  21. To be fair, this is only current MGC members. I've never been once contacted by anybody to ask if I want to donate.
  22. Were they really? That's the first I heard about a "counter" banner. Do we know what it would've said??
