  1. I can tell you this: Before we hired anyone I told myself I wouldn't get season tickets or donate to MGC no matter who we hired, until things had changed that is. I am still skeptical, but if the Spring game is going to be as positive as I think it will, I will be a season ticket owner and regular MGC donor going forward.
  2. Seconded. Coming from oilfield country, I worked with many a men who sounded and probably act a lot like Littrell, and they all worked their asses off. People use the "good ole boy" moniker as a bad thing. I, on the other hand, see it as a positive as some "good ole boys" that I know are some of the hardest working people out there. I'm willing to bet he will put a blue collar, no excuses type mindset(the "good ole boy" mindset) to his coaching regime and it will produce results.
  3. Good thing we won't have to worry about this as Mark Mangino will be terrorizing buffets in Denton come Monday.... Edit: By the way this is sarcasm people. I'm hoping for the best(Littrell) while expecting the worst(typical RV hire i.e. Mangino)
  4. Barnett has been spot on so far. If he says we haven't I trust his word. Everybody get ready for the Mangino announcement come Sunday once ECU sweeps up Littrell
  5. I can't wait for Mark Mangino and Bruce Chambers!
  6. I've heard through the grapevine that he is indeed contacting coaches
  7. Hmm I wonder if the AD will reach out to them to start donating after graduation... Nah. That's not their job
  8. Damn skippy. Before SMU and UTSA, Permian fueled my sports hatred, then again, most Midlanders stay out of Odessa as much as possible and vice versa. Always cracked me up when Midland High tried to call themselves our biggest rival. Not in the slightest. It's always been Lee-Permian above all else.
  9. Because like Bama, Georgia sells itself. I think people would prefer Littrell(or any coach) get here sooner rather than later because North Texas is a hell of a lot harder sell than either of those SEC Powerhouses
  10. I would never visit Denton again(Lee grad, so Gary Gaines and Permian can suck it)
  11. Yes that's exactly what I'm saying. I actually wake up every morning with a North Texas Battle Flag on the ground next to my bed so when I wake up I can stomp on it as I curse the name of UNT. I then repeat the process every hour on the hour for extra emphasis.
  12. I'm not deflecting anything. I think it's a bit ridiculous to compare the North Texas fight song and the national anthem but maybe that's just me.
  13. Because the UNT fight song and the national anthem are totally comparable
  14. Is this why most air raid staffs have a Inside receivers coach and an outside receivers coach? To help specialize in said routes? I always found it peculiar that the only staffs that tend to have two receiving coaches are those who run air raid offenses.
  15. I think it's kinda funny personally. But I understand the degrading nature of it. I tend to only do it if I'm drunk at the games, so it's about a 50/50 thing for me. Just depends on my mood that particular game I guess
  16. To clarify I know that Littrell is basically the only guy they're pursuing at this point. I have all the confidence in the world that it's all but 100% done. I just hope that Smatresk doesn't allow RV to RV things up, i.e. a Chambers hire.
  17. I'm glad you asked I think the scarier part of this is that we are all assuming it is a foregone conclusion that Littrell will be the coach in less than a week, when in all reality there's a very real possibility we get a Bruce Chambers type hire
  18. And so it begins. I wonder how many more players will leave or be "gently" nudged out the door with the new coaching staff coming in.
  19. I'll take one Graham Harrell as Offensive Coordinator please
  20. Mangino in Denton would cause the rest of the city's population to look like Sudanese refugees. Not enough food to go around
  21. I'm not trying to debate anything, just saying what I've experienced. I understand and respect your viewpoint as my parents would do the same. Maybe not so much anymore as they're in their 60's, but you get the point.
  22. the whole m'fing eagles thing is definitely a generational thing. Most of the student section does it. I do it just about every time and I just graduated.
  23. Lot of people are gonna have to lose, AND UNC win for them to get in. Clemson is favored and rightly so, but it's unlikely they'll make it even if they do win.
  24. Just for reference to @Cerebus and the Mods, if what they are talking about is true, is there some reason why we aren't "allowed to talk about it" as many on here have said?
