  1. He is a @BillySee58 B grade. Offers from Coastal Carolina and ODU at the FBS level. Also offers from UIW, Houston Christian, Lamar, Southern and Missouri State. Harder to gage all offers from transfers unless they post them.
  2. Based on @BillySee58own beloved offer based method... Mr. Roger's is an A recruit. He held transfer offers from Cal, Indiana, Georgia State, Liberty, Arkansas State, Sam Houston, Texas State and Jacksonville State.
  3. Idk how educated me. Cooper is on his Polynesians, but Bula is hawaiian. That is Tongan. If he doesn't know it could be lol.
  4. I've been thinking about what transfers have really thrived on arrival here... I'd guess there would be 4 categories for this: P5: Marcus Trice G5: Juco: DeAndre Torrey FCS/Other: Those were the only ones that popped out right of the top of my head to start the discussion. But i'd love to hear what everyone thinks.
  5. They also announced several times via Twitter. I don't have facebook so I wouldn't now. Maybe Instagram as well.
  6. Technically he's betting against them, right? Like if they win it's bad for his business.
  7. Would you say the staff has made a big effort to recruit the team that already exists? I certainly expected more portal activity with a new coach. Are we still at risk for any big names that you know ?
  8. I imagine he's pretty good at his job if Lincoln Riley made space for him on his team when he left OU for USC...
  9. I get that, but we are two recruits in. And it is the coaches collegiate position, I'm not saying this is the most exciting signing we will have. There could even be a chance with the changing of staff that is UIW offer wasn't valid anymore we don't know, but dragging a kid who looks capable just based on stats/film/competition level because he didn't get offers, seems a bit premature. Even if he is a role guy down the road, I know high school coaches appreciate when the programs take a little more risk to sign a kid I know they believe in. Like Morris said he plans to build via relationship. I'd say this is a good first step, regardless of how it ends up playing out. Mike was a walk on. Fine was a walk on. We obviously want to win some battles and close with a good class. But the staff is brand new and they deserve the benefit of the doubt. It's not like he took a flyer on a no offer undersized qb from Oklahoma or anything.
  10. God ya'll are miserable. He had almost 1200 yards and 15 touchdowns on one of the best teams in the state against collegiate level talent all season... Multiple touchdowns in the state level. At least watch his tape... Also it's absolutely an investment into Denton and to the coaches to offer this kid immediately while coming on. We either hired a guy who can evaluate and develop or we didn't. Here is his film if you actually care to make your own evaluation outside of a recruiting site. https://www.hudl.com/profile/14494753/Landon-Sides "We want a coach to keep kids home and builds relationships with the local community" followed by "NO NOT LIKE THAT. NOT HIM"
  11. He signed with UTSA already today I believe.
  12. Around 20-25% of these kids have found a new home. And as you've all now learned, the majority of them wont. I believe it was like... 30% or less of portal entrants found a new home. Now imagine that not all those homes even come with a scholarship. Those entering the portal are competing for 85 scholarship spots per university at the FBS D1 level... High School recruits, portal guys, juco are all your competition. I would venture that the best players entering the portal already know where they are going before they enter. Let's say... the Murphy twins for example. Probably were contacted before entering. Plus, all-conference accolades it's a safe bet. If you are 3rd or lower on the depth chart you may be walking away from a free education chasing minutes. Let me state I am all for these young men being allowed to transfer and find the right fit and opportunity. Coaches do it penalty free every year. But I hope coaches, family members and support systems get better at educating some of these guys about the risks and potential downside to the portal. It seems to me for more than half of the kids who enter it's a Siren's song leading them to crash their collegiate ship into the rocky shores. But let's be honest, how many parents do you know can stay level headed and reasonable and realistic when it comes to their kids dreams and asperations.
  13. I imagine the reoffers and offers are as simple as... Morris going here's some tape or a hudl link on guys interested or committed to UNT who we can still get. Couple hours later green lit.
  14. Don't go look at SMUs. Absolutely monstrous haul.
  15. I'm in hot water on twitter if we lose to these clowns. I'll never here the end of it.
  16. If this were true why did he rush to make sure the other DT who was committed stayed comitted?
  17. Decommits, but doesn't mean we don't have a shot if Morris wants to visit and re offer.
  18. Biggest game of the year? Could have been Saint Mary's but we weren't at full strength.
  19. I really am hoping for Mayes and Cobb. Cobb being my absolute must.
  20. Gonna be a long weekend for him. Good to see him grind it out. - THSFB Championships - In-home visit(s) - Bowl Game - Bowl Parties - Hiring Coaches - Interviews and Media
  21. I'm super happy he is coming. But he was already committed under the previous regime. Morris was just smart enough to reoffer and let him know we still want him. There's two kids out in SOC that need the same treatment and he might as well stop in DeSoto while he's out there...
  22. Our freshman keeper transferred to Indiana I believe.
  23. Arizona State made a late run and offer. Hoping his next stop is at SOC.
