  1. When you don't throw downfield much you shouldn't throw a whole lot of interceptions.
  2. Exactly. Until they prove they can throw the ball I like our chances to make it a game.
  3. Time for conference play. We'll see if the concern over the constant close wins against lesser opponents and blowout losses to the actually decent teams we played is warranted or if 9-5 including a 20 point win in College Station is a sign of good things to come.
  4. How do you get rolled by a team whose qb was 6-19 and had 2 picks?
  5. Not going to comment on DT, but our offense was just 68th in the country in yards per game and 50th in scoring. We just haven't had productive offenses over the last 15 years or so that has seen a major development with spread offenses and the passing game. We finally got a decent offense and they broke some records that were very breakable. The offense stepped up and took care of business by taking those records down. I hope our offense continues to progress and breaks those records next year, which is doable.
  6. Vandy has more points than Houston has yards at halftime. Embarrassing.
  7. I refuse to believe that we wouldn't have given Vandy and Miss St better games than Houston is giving and Rice gave them.
  8. Rivals in particular has become a lot more stingy with giving out three stars. They also demote kids to 2-stars more often now. Xavier Kelly is gone fwiw. We have seven 3-stars this year currently committed. Tee Goree (247, rivals, and scout), Fonzale Davis (247,ESPN), Jalen Adams (ESPN) Connor Means (ESPN), Willy Ivery (scout), Brandon Garner (ESPN), and Trevor Moore (ESPN).
  9. I think it'll be kind of like that Nicholls St game. Close in the first half but our talent prevails in the second half. Would like to see a complete game on both ends of the court.
  10. That's why I hope for a qb like Berglund or Williams. They're both accurate enough to hit the quick, short routes that moved us down the field all year, but they have strong enough arms to hit downfield passes which could be the difference against teams like UT.
  11. Exactly. Then Bridgwater carried that team for the last two years. As long as their qb situation at qb is any combination of Tyrone Swoopes and David Ash I don't see them immensely improving at least off the bat.
  12. Xavier Washington will be competing in the Semper Fi All-American Bowl tomorrow, Sunday, January 5th, 2014 and the game will be broadcast on Fox Sports 1.
  13. That's what I said in the Mack Brown thread. Bridgewater and high-school teammate/Louisville receiver Eli Rogers were both Miami commits at one point. Strong is okay, but I like our chances when we roll into Austin.
  14. Because the offensive side of football has evolved immensely over the past 10-15 years, but we're just now getting the competence to reap benefits from it. Same reason DT is in the tops in almost every offensive category, yet is statistically average compared to most FBS qbs.
  15. I believe we will stand a chance in that game. Great opportunity for the program. Let the chance at this opportunity drive us all offseason. Things are falling into place for this to be our finest hour.
  16. Well, the thing is the wildcat is starting to become extinct anyways. I am the guy that likes seeing players tried out at different positions, so I'm with you. But I think DT would work his butt off to get a chance at just your regular old qb.
  17. NFL fullbacks are 250+. Weight is the thing going against Zach for linebacker. It's going against him even worse if he wanted to play fullback. He could be a bigger bruising running back, but it might be a little late to make that switch. And there's a lot of competition there.
  18. He was. He'll be back, but Warner was ahead of him before he got injured. Should be a good competition.
  19. Fonzale at 82, Garner at 86. Also Xavier Washington is 65 and Nick Orr is 36
