  1. Read very little into listed 40 times. The two things you should care about for speed are laser-timed 40s and how fast the kid is on the field. He does appear to be very fast, though.
  2. There are 5 teams in this conference with a legitimate shot at winning the CUSA tournament. Talent wise, we're the next team in line.
  3. These guys. http://arizona.scout.com/a.z?s=106&p=8&c=1&nid=7498961 http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-D'Anthony-Hopkins-158870 I like to think this is the year we break through and get some commits in the spring, rather than wait until summer to see a few commits. Although I am expecting a big summer as well after the success of our talon talent and friday night lights camps last year. FWIW, I think Hopkins was a Texas State verbal so probably a good chance he doesn't exactly shut his recruitment down.
  4. I think he'd make a solid kick returner. He doesn't have much experience returning kicks, but if you watch his film his team ran a lot of tunnel screen type plays to Davis. He reads his blocks very well, especially in the open field. Couple that with the moves he can make with the ball in his hands and he could really do some damage in the return game.
  5. Don't worry guys. I'll do the honors. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=DnVrSZHnvYY
  6. Tillman Johnson's commitment and recruitment had nothing to do with Xavier Washington falling through. The coaches wanted Tillman regardless.
  7. Agreed. Good find DA, although it's big-time bummer. And yes, as everyone is saying, we just have to be able to start paying the assistants. Wish Joseph and Walters luck, but the work they did in the recruiting trail will benefit us long after their departure this year. Despite all this, I love Mac's ability to replace assistants. Enter Coach Kevin Patrick as the new recruiting coordinator!
  8. Lol, I'll never understand why people still say "could" instead of "couldn't" in this phrase.
  9. Looks like he may be close to committing to TCU. They're using the ole multiple-letters-at-once trick with him as well.
  10. Nice win! Glad to see they were able to finish this one.
  11. 13-3A special teams MVP http://texashsfootball.com/2014/02/11/2013-all-district-13-3a-team/ Good stuff! First linebacker offer to my knowledge for 2015. Looks like he might be big enough to play inside LB as well.
  12. It's not that he wouldn't be eligible to go to a D1 school, but that he would have to sit out a year if he transferred to a D1 without graduating from the JC. If a guy graduates from a JC, whether he started at a D1 or not, then he can play immediately at a D1 school if he transfers to one. I think risinggreen is right about this. He may be eligible to transfer to UNT despite not graduating from Navarro since he qualified out of high school, but he wouldn't be eligible to play immediately like a JUCO player who graduated from the JC.
  13. Expressing interest in this guy. http://247sports.com/Player/Colton-Moorehead-35585 http://www.hudl.com/athlete/o/3696335/colton-moorehead Former teammate of Sir Calvin Wallace, Andrew Tucker, Rex Rollins, and Lairamie Lee at Chapel Hill HS in Tyler, TX. Currently plays for Tyler JC and played the 2013 season there, after redshirting in 2012 at Midwestern State.
  14. Former Trinity Trojan and current Tyler Junior College player Mote Maile has been offered by us per Gabe Brooks. Looks like he played at Trinity early in his high school career and finished up in California. Obviously played good competition here in the DFW, but played very good competition in California as well. Likely being recruited as a strong side defensive end. Also has played tight end. JUCO highlights and junior/senior high school highlights at Pittsburg High School in Pittsburgh, CA: http://www.hudl.com/athlete/o/473076/motekiai-maile--43 http://northtexas.scout.com/a.z?s=353&p=8&c=1&nid=7635328
  15. Yeah, I think you may be right about that. Also, yes to an NCTC football program.
  16. If he's transferring from a JUCO, regardless of whether he played there or not, then he wouldn't have to sit out a year. Could be eligible to start playing this season as a redshirt sophomore.
