  1. Exactly. That's why I don't even bother posting things like that.
  2. Wow. Maybe taking 4 receivers again? Wonder of that'll translate to more passing this year and beyond. Also, wonder if that one qb is already on board (Chumley).
  3. Defensive end from Rowlett. Already holds 6 offers. Offered on junior day. Thanks to untsportsnewz on twitter. http://espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/_/id/189022/charles-omenihu http://ucla.scout.com/a.z?s=12&p=8&c=1&nid=7520728 http://247sports.com/Player/Charles-Omenihu-34915 http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Charles-Omenihu-158593 Highlights: http://www.hudl.com/athlete/o/2733542/charles-omenihu
  4. Probably. TCU will be tough to beat out even if it's just them. He's a lot like Chucky Hunter, and I'm sure the coaches will sell him on that and plenty more. But still, making a good impression on him early on is worth a try. If he chooses to wait out the process, with the 25 scholarship per class cap, the bigger schools might be filled up. TCU already has 7 commits, so if he waits they could be filled up. Or any other big schools for that matter. Not saying that'll happen, but just more reason to make good impressions on these big time prospects, aside from them transferring if things don't work out at the big school.
  5. I think it's 6'1" and 3/4. Could be wrong, but either way, I agree lol.
  6. Nate Brooks, whitehouse cornerback who we've already offered. Would be nice to lock him up early. Has the agility to be a potential replacement for Whitfield in the nickel early in his career.
  7. Thanks H-Town and ntmeangreen11 of course. Really hope we get back in on the SOC boys after pulling fonzale from there. A lot of talent there.
  8. The 2010 kids were freshmen that year. They were here before Dodge got fired.
  9. Physical DB Nico Johnson to be in attendance
  10. Really? Very possible. Would be nice if they are at least cousins or something. Looks like they went to different high schools, but both from Tyler.
  11. YouTube videos of the games from Carthage's state championship run. Some full games of our future Mean Green receivers if you start having some football withdrawals. Broadcast of these games courtesy of, and rights reserved by KGAS radio and Hanszen Broadcasting Co., Inc. Second round against defensive 3A division II state champs Navasota. Skip to about 1:05:20 for a little Tee Goree magic. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=j2wIqgM44AY Third round vs. Silsbee http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=uIV8jlY-PHI Fourth round vs. West Orange-Stark http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=3AIbmBCaol8 Fifth round vs. La Grange. Huge game for both Goree and Rutherford http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ojlifySDwNQ
  12. A few players showing early reported interested. Showing interest may mean nothing, so take from it what you will. Just some guys that may be worth keeping an eye on, in addition to the junior day invitees (some on this list). Wyatt Santos, offensive guard, Van, Texas. Brother of Texas linebacker Dalton Santos. Former teammate of current Mean Green D-lineman Syd Moore. http://espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/_/id/185309/wyatt-santos http://247sports.com/Player/Wyatt-Santos-32576 http://www.hudl.com/athlete/o/1749713/wyatt-santos Jassavia Reese, defensive end, Tyler, Texas. Junior day invitee per ntmeangreen11. http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Jassavia-Reese-152346 http://www.hudl.com/athlete/900186/jassavia-reese Marvis Brown, center, Orange, Texas. http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Marvis-Brown-144082 http://www.hudl.com/athlete/2063060/marvis-brown Tony Nicholson, athlete, Gramd Prairie, Texas. Junior day invitee per ntmeangreen11. Holds a Colorado State offer. http://espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/_/id/191048/tony-nicholson http://www.hudl.com/athlete/2282188/tony-nicholson Phillip Haynes, O-lineman, Memphis, Tennessee. Not sure how legitimate his interest is in us, but does already hold offers from two Texas schools in Texas Southern and UTSA. Big kid. http://espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/_/id/182217/phillip-haynes http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1104846/phillip-haynes
  13. Defensive end from Guyer. Early member of the rivals preseason Texas top 100. First team district 5-4A defensive end. Holds North Texas offer. Props to NT03 for the find. http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Carl-Thompson-155727 http://www.hudl.com/athlete/o/1369668/carl-thompson
  14. Thanks 03! Glad to see we offered him. Hopefully we offer their transfer qb Kevin Dillman. Kid transferred from California, but we all know the real reason he came to Denton! Lock him up Mac! http://247sports.com/Player/Kevin-Dillman-20292 Edit: Thank you Miner!
  15. Not condemning all the TCU, Texas, and P5 talk, but one thing I wanted to bring up by making this thread is that a lot of out-of-state non-P5 schools like to recruit Texas. Those schools who (Memphis, SDSU, Colorado State, Memphis, Nevada, and Toledo) know coming in that they won't be able to compete with the 5 P5 schools in Texas for Texas recruits. These non-P5 out of state schools still want good players, but they know they can't get the top players with in-state P5 offers. There are also very few non-P5 out of state schools that have a chance getting a Texas recruit that SMU and Houston want. Who does that leave? Players who have offers from the other Texas D1 schools (UTEP, Texas State, Rice, UTSA, and us). Losing recruiting battles to the P5 schools in this state is just the nature of recruiting. Losing recruits to major out of state programs is as well. But we are not going to let a non-P5 school outside of this state come in and take a player that we want out of our backyard. Those schools got a few, even one or two that we offered at some point, but I don't think it was any players who we were actively recruiting. Those non-P5 out of state schools know that if a P5 school from Texas wants a Texas recruit, they shouldn't even waste their time. I hope they know now that they can add North Texas to that list of schools from this state that they can't compete with for a Texas recruit.
  16. Looks like D'Luis West, running back out of Troup, is another junior day invitee. Love us some East Texas. http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1715707/highlights/63888375?autoplay=1 http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/player-D'Luis-West-150392
  17. I'm more scared that they'll be the fourth team to give us a 30+ point loss this season.
  18. I think that's the mattress that our players slept with coeds on. Just speculation.
  19. Thank you very much, 90 and everyone else. Glad you guys appreciate this kind of stuff. I don't have what the intellect that those guys do, but glad I can contribute to the board when I can.
  20. How dare you not use Gonzaga as our measuring stick!
  21. Thanks. Good to know. Yeah, it's definitely a nice position to have solid depth at. I think the days of seeing Jamario Thomas, Lance Dunbar, and Patrick Cobbs numbers are behind us. We're going to see a steady rotation and hurt you with different backs, and different styles of backs, coming in fresh.
