  1. This is what you sign up for when you make a coaching change. If your top priority is to keep the guys already on your roster, then Seth Littrell should have been re-hired.
  2. https://www.victoriaadvocate.com/division-ii-standout-lineman-jake-long-commits-to-unt/article_f4b43cae-7ebd-5541-88ba-d64b4ed572e3.html Pretty good offer list. Second Team All-American guard at the DII level. We seem to be pretty stacked at guard. Georgia Tech transfer Vaipulu, Gabe Blair, and Febechi Nwaiwu already on the spring roster. Plus Miner the Arkansas State starter transferring in at Center. Will be interesting to see how the competition plays out.
  3. Don’t forget we were only at 12 scholarships this season after Zephir left the team.
  4. Guessing we won’t see Oklahoma State in Denton anytime soon. Should definitely reach out to other top mid majors that have the same problem. Felt like that’s what we were going for with schools like Nevada, Saint Mary’s, Loyola Chicago, Dayton, etc. Maybe we have the reputation to get more of these types to go home and home with us instead of us just going there.
  5. How about Dodge the way he gets his teams to play D?
  6. You see, it’s actually because he is the Chairman of the NIT committee
  7. Man, what a team. Was great to watch that celebration. Glad they got to soak it all in together.
  8. I do not enjoy these Jelly Walker trips to the line to shoot 3 free throws.
  9. It’s nice that Sports Reference shows our SRS (Simple Rating System) score of our teams throughout the years. It’s just a standard rating based on strength of schedule that season and point differential. Helps quantify where each team stood relative to the rest of D1 men’s college basketball each year. Our SRS each of the past four seasons has set a new program high. It’s also interesting that the highest marks before Mccasland were set by Spika’s MVC teams, not Blakeley’s teams. It also shows the Strength of Schedule which was much higher in the MVC in the 60s than it was those elite Blakeley years. It’s not exact because it does seem to overweight strength of schedule, but it’s still cool to see something showing Mccasland’s consistent ability to propel our program to new heights. https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/schools/north-texas/men/
  10. Great game. Glad we get to watch this team play for a championship because they are extremely deserving of it.
  11. I am excited to watch this upcoming basketball game
  12. If that is in fact what happened, then I continue to be not worried about the HS kids Morris is bringing in/getting committed. Unless he gets hired away by a P5.
  13. And I’m saying our starters weren’t leaving prior to the coaching change. Outside of the Murphy twins, everyone else already had given us 4 years and graduated. I just don’t think this is widespread enough to warrant the hysteria the times that it does. When you get a new coach, you’re signing up for the roster that coach is going to put together. Not the roster that he inherited. If in two-three years we are seeing these 2023 and 2024 signees that Morris brought in leaving for P5s after starting as underclassmen, then I’d be concerned.
  14. Eh, not exactly. Coaching change is a unique circumstance. We weren’t losing starters under Littrell except for Grad Transfers. Most of which had already played 4 seasons for us and were going somewhere else to use that extra COVID year. Murphy twins were really the only ones. I think Morris’ recruits will stay, save for the outlier here and there. But just like with the Murphy twins and Gumms, people on here will be the loudest about the outliers and not the starter-caliber players who are staying here 4 years.
  15. Yeah I definitely agree he would’ve used Gumms, similar to how he did when he inherited Amaro. That’s not my point. I just don’t think Tight End is going to be a big part of Morris’ offense otherwise. He got one committed for 2024 so I think he will use one, but I think base offense will be 10 personnel.
  16. Tight Ends caught 12 passes in his offense last year and 7 the year before that.
  17. Morris hasn’t used TEs much traditionally. I think the biggest winner here is Jordan Smart.
  18. Thanks! Thought it a was a good touch that you underlined “quite” in your post.
  19. I think it has less to do with ESPN and more to do with the AP. That’s whose summaries ESPN is going to use most of the time.
  20. Better team won. Get douchebagged, OK State
