  1. oh hey... by the way... the Vandals want out too My link
  2. pending on whether or not UTEP has actually been invited or not, I wouldn't count them completely out of the equation, if teh MWC can present a pretty $ number, or if they make a VERY convincing case about their potential to become a BCS conference, UTEP might just swing
  3. you got it backwards man... it's going to be a glass ceiling on a field that is 50 yards deep... you sit on the glass, like you would would a glass bottom boat...
  4. It wouldn't be the BCS, this would just be the top tier schools of College Football leaving the NCAA to go make their own league... nothing binds them to stay with the NCAA... there would be nothing Congress could do... the possibilities of this are endless... new rules, scholarships, possibly start paying players...
  5. http://espn.go.com/blog/ncfnation/post/_/id/38490/non-aq-offseason-to-do-list
  6. scheduling would be a nightmare... rivalries would be lost... debates would still be had... and at a much more potent level, over money lost from basic tv contracts... tv contracts would be a nightmare in the first place (who gets paid what?)... not even mentioning scholarship differences/other NCAA regulations that have the potential to change from year to year... i say we go to a 60 team D-1 level, with six 10-team conferences, have a 6 team playoff among division winners and have play in games every 5 years to weed out the bottom 6 teams over that time span with the top 6 teams from a D-2 level of the same format in the end there are just too many teams in college football to crown a true national champion
  7. American would win every year... that side is loaded...
  8. nope... your off on points here... yes, texas has their own network, but they will only have one game on that network, the conference will still be tied to a network (ABC/ESPN almost undoubtedly) as far as the Big Ten(+2) they are still staying with an 8 game conference schedule, much like the Big 12 had. Noter Dame can still schedule their friends in the Big Ten and play the service academies... along with throwing a few games at other punching bags, don't be mistaken though, anybody in the country would be more than happy to play ND because its a guaranteed sellout... Noter Dame likes where they are at, and would only join the Big Ten if they are forced to... they have no desire to be in a conference where UT would outshine them...
  9. is this to fill the hole that TTU left when they tucked tail and turned?
  10. speaking of spring football... anybody have any years of eligibility left? http://www.meangreensports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=1800&ATCLID=217907
  11. either that, or the peeps over on the MWC board are pulling an amazing prank
  12. but what is the motivation for ND to join the Big 12? (or any conference for that matter) they have much more built in rivalries with Big Ten/Big East schools and truly have great deal already in place... so unless the BCS falls apart (3 years) and Super Conferences are formed (outside shot at 5 years) ND is extremely content with where it is at.
  13. my deal is... who wants UNT in C-USA if that happens? maybe an outside shot of Rice? or UH?
  14. You've seen shirts just walking around? that's crazy!!! do they have legs?
  15. Notre Dame... if they were forced to join a conference... would not join the Big 12... basically, any big time program will not want to join the Big 12... DeLoss Dodds scares all those programs away also, if the MWC picks UTEP, I'm still not sure we would have that great of a shot to go to C-USA
  16. oh... that's it? just use the Boise model? how simple... what were we thinking before? I knew we shouldn't have signed up for the San Jose St. model
  17. hehehe... I love the TCU guys comment about how fanbases don't appear out of nowhere... let's just ignore TCU's history of a strong following right???
  18. well yeah... they were ranked in the top 5 heading into this year... and there was no way anybody with half a brain thought they were going to be that good... same goes for Florida... Top 5 at the beginning of the season to a ho-hum season with no real high points
  19. Cam Newton and Tim Tebow... I'd find a way to use both of them...
  20. love the flying worm helmets... I would love to see this used
