  1. Really hoping this staff comes together quickly and we start hearing some more noise on who UNT is interested in soon.
  2. Yes, this is all true. I think we are saying the same thing here. Those things, as well as being in a large metro area (honestly a huge part of it), student body size, future potential, etc. were the determining factors for who got chosen. LT's current facilities weren't one of those reasons.
  3. If Charlotte got in with this, I don't think their stadium hindered them in any way.
  4. Yes, but suggesting their facilities had something to do with them being left behind is not accurate. Their facilities would easily fit in the AAC.
  5. LaTech was left behind because of its small market, small school size, and small athletic budget. It had nothing to do with their facilities or even on field success.
  6. 4 star coming out of high school. He had less points per game this year, but also had less minutes. When he's on the court he can score, the only negative is he doesn't have great 3pt numbers. This would be a huge get. https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/player/_/id/4433165/demarr-langford-jr
  7. Speaking logically here we have 0 points of reference. New coach, new staff, new players, new conference, not a single down played. There's not even enough to make an educated guess. It could be great, or it could be horrible. Time will tell.
  8. Looks like Hodge's staff is taking a bit, but we at least have news that the 1st assistant has been chosen. Hopefully they can wrap things up quickly and get to hitting the portal/recruiting.
  9. More importantly, why would you want someone to stay that doesn't want to be here?
  10. More money for basketball? Yes, we should double or triple what we put into BB, but football is still important.
  11. Shoot for the stars right? Worst he can say is no. https://247sports.com/Player/LJ-Cryer-46043235/
  12. Yup walk ons. I counted the 4 that are out of eligibility in Eady, Browne, Martinez, and Huntsberry, plus 2 transfers in Abou and TP that gives us 6. If Morgan transfers that 7, but if he stays we have 6. Cotton is committed so that's -1 to both of those numbers so, 6 or 5 left depending on what Morgan does.
  13. Thank you. I think I had started typing his name out and put Chris Morgan by mistake.
  14. I thought I'd make a catch-all thread to keep track of the roster as well as who UNT is targeting in the portal/recruiting. Expected to return: Rubin Jone Aaron Scott Moulaye Sissoko Matthew Stone Christian Moore Arsh Mattu Grayson Allo Transferring: Tylor Perry Abou Ousmane Chris Morgan (maybe?) Out of Eligibility: Tyree Eady Rasheed Browne Jayden Martinez Kai Huntsberry Commits: Alex Cotton https://247sports.com/player/alex-cotton-46127654/ So we have 5 and possibly 6 scholarships left depending on what Chris Morgan decides to do.
  15. For those of you who haven't seen the master plan. You can see that they never planed to build anything on the AC endzone. Of course things change and this plan is from 2013, the hotel is no longer an option and they want to do the arena there, and the baseball stadium will now be behind the IPF instead of next to the softball stadium. https://lightthetower.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/flyover.mp4
  16. Agree that during the harsh afternoon sunlight it does look weird. They should have made it able to open up or something. At night time when you can see the lights inside it doesn't look too bad. Outside of the aesthetics of a stadium and as a standalone football facility they did a really good job. At least IMO.
  17. IIRC the plan has always been to add seating by adding another tier to the visitor's side and closing the wingzone. I don't think there has ever been a mention of adding seating to the AC endzone. From an architectural perspective they may have built the AC too close to be able to finish the lower bowl, most likely on purpose. If you want that changed I'd say write the AD a letter and tell them what you think.
  18. I'm curious of what your reason are, why don't you like La Tech's?
  19. We have been worried about student turnout with just moving across the street. Going completely off campus seems like a big red flag. Plus again you have to share the space and don't have complete control of the facility.
  20. I certainly hope so, because if it is anywhere near what those renderings show it's going to be embarrassing. I think that wall is just to hold up the deck/building. I was confused at first too, but if you look closely there is space under/behind that staircase. The weight room will be on the other side next to the IPF if they go with the renderings they showed, you can see the corner of it peaking into this shot.
  21. "meh" he says. If that's "meh" what does that make ours?
  22. It's actually very nice. Have you seen the renderings of what UNTs may look like? LA Tech's is miles better.
