  1. ASAP... Dodds is back into a super money raising mode for the Billion dollars worth of expansions that is supposed to happen in the next decade there. Supposedly he is going to be "hands off" but in reality he is there to keep the Big Money Donors in line while the new guy learns the ropes of how the machine works.
  2. They send me a copy of their ticket. Camera phones that can integrate with email make this process a whole lot easier. It is essentially the honor system, but the point value is so low I really don't care. It really accomplishes two things: 1. it forces them to keep up with whats going on and email me and 2. it forces them to at worst go pick up a ticket or beg someone else for one. At some point peer pressure will kick in and they will go to a game if they have been scamming me before hand.
  3. I am shocked in how many students are bringing me ticket stubs from the Halloween game for extra credit.. it works well.. 1 point a game in an 800 point course is well worth it to me. Lets see how well it works for the Homecoming game as well...
  4. I love DT and his desire to win and put the best face forward for his team and university. That being said, DT does not have the tools to legitimately take the offense to the next level. He still locks onto his primary receiver a tad too often and does not have the legit arm strength to make keeping 9 men in the box a scary proposition. How many deep balls has he thrown that the receiver has had to stop and go back for this year? That is my gripe with DT. Combine that with getting the ball there, but not getting it in the spot that allows the receiver to continue through on the play. That may be the more maddening thing for me. I can take a weaker arm, but there are many times that the timing just seems off or that the ball is thrown the wrong shoulder. Some of that is still footwork and can still be refined, but a lo of that is arm strength and there is not a ton you can do about it. It will never be about him as a person or as a leader, but from a skillset perspective he just does not have the arm or the accuracy. He is a game manager. There is nothing wrong with that with the design of the team we have right now. It does bring into question what happens if we "need" an all or nothing type of drive, but that is a price I am willing to pay to have a consistent game manger and leader on the field.
  5. and people wonder why CUSA is such a big deal for UNT... Is this the first time in how many decades that we are playing to Texas schools in back to back weeks at home?
  6. Which is something he excels at.. Lets not forget that the real reason he is there is that they are about the completely remake the athletics facilities for MBB, maybe Baseball and expand the stadium. That is happening due to campus expansion of their med school I think. Regardless in the next 10 years they are looking at a number approaching a Billion in campus improvements and a large chunk of that is going to intertwined with the AD. Sometimes people forget about hoow much $$ is really involved at the big name schools and why these guys wield the stick they do.
  7. I would be worried about Patteson.. The guy is not afraid to clean house. Additionally, Graham is not really an option. Too much of an ass to fit the expected glad-handing portion of the UT job. They will accept it if he was someone like Saban that has a ton of skins on the wall, but not so much for Graham. Scarier part is that Patterson will more than likely clean house with all the coaches, adn therefore the liklihood that they have a legit Mens Basketball and Baseball coach is a scary thoguht
  8. What I find interesting is that though we have only 6 commits, we are looking good with 3*'s Tee Goree and Tre Betts and a shot at 3* Damani Mosby. There is ton of time left in this recruiting cycle and we are now at a tipping point to start getting some more late commitments. I could actually see the potential for some kids to decide to become interested in us and miss out due to numbers at certain positions. It is a nice problem to have for once. http://northtexas.247sports.com/Season/2014-Football/Targets
  9. Guys, If ECU loses either to Marshal or NCST we should host the title game. We are too close to not pass them up if they lose a game from here on out. Worry about us winning out and Tulan losing at this point. The rest will fall in line.. Bigger fear is that just one vote for either poll for ECU will slant the entire process.. Be afraid that they will try and call in some favors.
  10. Pretty much... That is why D Mac and many others having a Coaches vote is such a big deal
  11. Human component is 2/3 and the computer composite average is 1/3.. We are in dire need of someone in the DFW area to throw us a bone at this point. That or one of the beat writers in Ohio wanting to prop up Ohio or Ball State
  12. only the top 25 of the Harris and Coaches. The rest is driven by the computers. That is why it would be real nice to see UNT get a voe for 25 by one of the Harris voters. It would push into the low 40's high 30's.
  13. Not correct... It is more important to look at the high and low score that gets eliminated than the overall average... I would strongly encourage all fo you to read up on how each poll works. That info can be found here: http://www.bcsknowhow.com/tag/explanation From here on out, things will get pretty tight. But just remember that if we win out we stand a pretty good chance of hosting. The bigger question will be can ECU beat NCST and Marshal. If they lose either game and we win out we should host. No one else on the East really stands a chance to host if we win out and Rice beats Tulane or Tulane drops another one besides ECU.
  14. Well.. once again I know that are many many students that are filling up the gaps in the alumni section.. I know that me and the 12 or so with us ended up leaking into the alumni section because the doc students arent rowdy enough for the student side. The issue is going to be what happens when there is not enough "room" on the student side and they start bleeding over more and more to other parts of the stadium
  15. Well well well... looks like the glass slipper for Cinderella may have a crack in it
  16. More worried about alumni turnout than on-campus student turnout.
  17. 9? are you planning at starting at 2?
  18. But the issue was not public... YET Sounds like there is a whole lot more to the story.. will call my buddies down there and see if I can get some better dirt over the weekend
  19. Told my students to bring me their ticket stub to my office next week and I will give them extra credit..
  20. Doc student tailgate, now with corporate sponsorship, has moved to the Blue lot. Now we can harass Thor much more easily
  21. Trying to talk the rest of my crew for 9:30, but so far no go
  22. Stop thinking as a fan and start thinking more as a business man..
  23. I for one support our new internet overlord..
