My guess is they are waiting to see how their season goes with their new members to see if it draws national attention (as the WAC did from Boise St/Nevada). If it does, then I bet they come talking with UH/UTEP again with that as leverage. I think for us, we better hope that the new MWC does terrible so that UH and UTEP won't be rethinking their decisions.

This pisses me off SO MUCH. This is embarrassing. Have we lowered our expectations so much that we are becoming ok with being in the same conference as a team that has a football team that has never played and other teams that suck at the D2 level??? This conference sucks more and more every day. Sure...we have had a football team for 50+ years, why not be in a conference with a school that doesn't even have one yet? Wow..that is progress I tell you. Is this what everyone means by "Build the Belt"?

I think we would all be doing the same. Better lock the windows on USU campus for a few days after that news. I hope RV can use this time to move us up a couple of spots on the MWC's list ahead of USU ans SJSU. Maybe pick up the phone or something. Anything (assuming he hasn't by reading these posts).

I would not be calling for RV's head had he not of told me that he thinks "...the belt is the best place for UNT right now. But if the Big 12 were to come knocking he would accept it". Yeah he has done great things for this university but isn't it like putting lipstick on a pig? Whether it's USU or SJSU or not one thing seems for certain and that is that it's not UNT. I wish all these improvements we were making now would have benefited us this go round (stadium, chuck, etc). Makes me mad to think that I am going to have to watch Belt teams in our new stadium for the next nth years. I have had RV tell me that he wanted to build the belt but I hope he wasn't just sitting on his thumb this time. If so, I say it's time for him to go.

I just don't understand this. When will the national media realize that the Belt is a powerhouse? Until then I will never, ever, pay attention to these espn "experts". Long live the Belt!

Another unacceptable loss. I don't understand our 13-2 record with wins against TT and LSU and then we fall to two very awful SBC teams?? Our conference record is 3-2 now and it will be tough to catch up to FAU and Dever at 6-0. I just don't understand this.

I don't really care where you got your information because you have already given me a stiffy...BUT I do question why you think that SMU and Houston wouldn't jump as this opportunity. I hate to be second in line to them but I also don't see the attraction of UTSA.
