  1. The ULL kicker redeemed himself in a big way. I think he missed one or two PAT's and one field goal. But he did make the one that counted.
  2. Damn, can we do a package deal? Leo and the gang?
  3. DaCarlos Renfro, West Orange Stark. We want this guy. All WOS players have speed and hit hard.
  4. Defensive tackle #1 - 6-4, 295 pounds, 4.9 forty. Defensive tackle #2 - 6-4, 295 pounds, 4.9 forty. Nose guard - 6-2, 300 pounds, 5.0 forty. Defensive tackle #3 - 6-5, 290 pounds, 4.8 forty. That is all.
  5. I don't know how "highly regarded" Scott Hall was coming out of high school, but I do remember how impressive he was in a semi-final game playoff game against Port Neches-Groves at Kyle field. He ran his teams offense very efficiently and his passing was usually dead on. Great long ball for a HS quarterback. Seriously, I thought to myself what a find he would be if UNT could get him. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised when it actually happened!
  6. I think if North Texas could present a three year plan to MWC or CUSA to add baseball, it would certainly help us to possible get into either of those conferences. We have to make ourselves as attractive as possible.
  7. Someone 'splain to me, what does it mean for North Texas?
  8. It's feasible that Tony Michell comes in as a one-man team, giving the other four starters a rest, with no dropoff in productivity.
  9. "ESPN.com reported that McElwain would sign a five-year contract with CSU, with an annual salary of $1.5 million a year — more than double the $700,000 a year the Rams were paying Steve Fairchild." Didn't know CSU could pay that kind of money.
  10. Great idea. But do we have the desire and leadership to make it happen? I'm not singling out UNT leadership either. I mean all the referenced institutions.
  11. Agree. The squeaky wheel gets the oil. Remember when Boise State moved to the WAC? It was either the AD or President of Boise who publically stated right after the move that it was the universitie's intent to become a member of the MWC (or was it the PAC 10). Of course the rest of Boise's journey is history. Point is, he made his intent known and they backed it on the field.
  12. I don't know what part Maus played in Cibolo's semi-final game against very good Port Arthur Memorial team, but Cibolo's defense stuffed Memorial 51-31. And four of Memorial's TD's came in the 4th quarter against Cibolo's scrubs.
  13. PA Memorial playing Cibolo Steele in 5A semi-finals today at Reliant Stadium. Memorial's top receiver, Sr. Jhajuan Seales is looking for a college offer. He's 6-foot-1 and runs a 4.4 in the 40, and just as important, he's an A-B student. His stats- 52 receptions for 1,138 yards, 13 touchdowns. Only schools to show interest are SFA, Northwestern State and Utah State. Surely as Memorial continues in the playoffs more colleges will see his skills. Wonder if this is one of those sleepers?
  14. I just can't see the MWC or CUSA simply ignoring the Dallas market.
  15. So what happened to the 90 feet of heat thingy?
  16. An SDSU Economics professor put the pencil to it- the move to the BE can be funded with air miles.
  17. Nick Schrapps final numbers for the season were 75 catches, 1,044 yards and 11 TD's. Beaumont Kelly lost the TAPPS Div I state title game against Fort Worth Nolan.
  18. I can't vote. I've never been instructed on how to use Facebook. Besides, my penis is....never mind.
  19. The weather was much worse for the Ohio game a few years back. And we drew 19K, I think.
  20. During this re-shuffling of conferences, with an eye on "moving up", wouldn't it have been nice to see 17-18K fans in the stands for our final home game? I'll bet CUSA and the MWC watch this stuff. And what a nice way to send out our seniors. Shame on our fans and the students!
  21. Makes me wonder what Coach McCarne thought about the attendance today.
