  1. Exerpts: ""I grew up from when I was little wanting to play at UT. I'm still the biggest UT fan you'll find," Dodge said. "It has a lot to do with me playing quarterback. At North Texas, I feel like I have the opportunity to play early and I know the offense in and out. And not many kids get to play for their dads in high school and in college." ""I still follow Texas and will still root them on. My dad was kind of iffy about (the switch). He was happy either way. He was so happy when I committed to Texas," "It's been sickening. It's been hard to sleep at night. I have Texas stuff all over my bedroom and I've had that ever since I was a little kid. It's taken a toll on me the past couple of weeks," said Dodge. "I've gotten to be pretty good friends with some of the guys playing at Texas. I talked to (Carroll teammate and Texas commit) Tre (Newton) today. He's one of my best friends. He's been really supportive but it was hard to even talk to him." Sounds like it was strictly a "business" decision. Appears the burnt orange blood still flows for Rodge and Todge.
  2. You cheated!! I meant two at a single position.
  3. I'm glad you agree with my sarcastic post.
  4. I'd have to go with corner because true shutdown corners are extremely hard to find. That and you can put more in the box to stop the run if your corners can safely be left on an island.
  5. If you could have two 5-stars (who pan out) at any defensive position which would you choose?
  6. I think it affects Meager. If Meager is outplayed by Vizza this season then he NEVER sees the field at quarterback. I've got an idea. Maybe we should move him to WR or DB since it is clear from my wild stab in the dark guesses that he has no future at QB.

    Wow

Here's some high comedy for ya....Baylor fans are saying they don't think Riley or Tre Newton would be good enough to play at Baylor. I hate to go all Nancy Reagan on them but "just say no."
  8. It would make sense. New jersey so a new order.
  9. Rivals puts him at 2 inches taller and 17 pounds heavier (for now at least )
  10. From horns message board And from another horns message board
  11. This is think is what gangrene might have been alluding to when he said someone talked about it being "posted on rivals." Incidentally if you check the NT commit list also no Riley.
  12. Hahaha...you made a drugs joke and then said BLOW. Cop sense of humor running wild again.
  13. I see your concerns but I really believe that Todge is a coach between the lines and a daddy outside of them. Besides, Riley and Todge both are winners...if Riley can help us win at the WR or DB position then that is where he will play. (All of this assuming we aren't speculating for nothing)
  14. If, and I mean IF, this is true here is what UT fans will be saying very shortly: "We never wanted him anyway. Mack only offered as a favor to Todge" "He would never have played here. At NT he'll be superman." "I never liked him to begin with" "I'm glad. I think Mack asked him to decommit so we could sign someone better"
  15. Before anyone gets too excited and needs to change their shorts I'd wait for an 'official' confirmation of this. Something on Rivals perhaps, or maybe in a legit newspaper.
  16. What? No talk of m'fers and baking cakes? No talk about this being the hardest place to coach in America?
  17. I agree. The same logic also applies to Woody Wilson, Matt Phillips, Nathan Tune......bottom line, to declare that anyone will "win many games for us" or be our savior is silly.
  18. Just got off the phone with FFRick who says that there is a white hat with the Exes interlocked NT logo in grey outlined in green with a green star in the middle of it. Has the head of "son of worm" logo on the bill and on the back. Everyone who has wanted this logo (and those who said it would never be produced) on a hat...it's out. http://www.lids.com/pid/20090036
  19. Call me childish if you want but I just have a hard time lending credence to someone who says Meager will be a superstar under Dodge when everything in his past says average. Especially when the same person writes off the only QB on our roster to actually WIN a game with his play and not just manage one of our losses. We all know that Daniel came out of the spring as the front runner but even Dodge2007 admits that WW's class schedule kept him out of valuable practice time. All I, and a few others, am asking for is a stop to the "Woody should be moved to DB or WR" talk until Fall practice has actually begun. If, as Dodge2007 is so quick to point out, we should trust in Dodge then why has it not occurred to anyone that if Dodge wanted Woody at a different position he would have moved him there? I mean if it's clear he won't ever play QB here why is he still listed as a QB? Could it be that the the QB race truly is "wide open" contrary to what some would like to believe? Could it be that Todge has actually seen video of all of his QB's and realizes there's not a stud in the bunch...especially when, as Dave Campbell's aptly points out, Meager has been "never able to maintain a role despite several opportunities." So, yeah, I would think only a relative of Daniel would be so quick to write off legitimate competitors and hoist him upon a pedestal. Need proof? How about these little nuggets: ]OR
  20. You may be right about foot speed. All I know, though, is Woody is capable of making a defense look silly if they give him room (ask SMU) and Meager seems to get walked down by linebackers. Maybe "more elusive" is a better description.
  21. What was Daniel like as a baby? Did he cry a lot Mrs. Meager?
  22. I'd almost guarantee it wasn't students. It was never students who made Fry street less appealing, it was the high schoolers (or high school dropouts) who came there to sit on the front steps of the tomato and be generally worthless. The hippy/punk crowd that somehow ended up on Fry street 30 years too late.
  23. If being outnumbered in your home stadium makes you want to quit supporting your school then don't ever become an SMU fan. They are outnumbered every time Ok State, Tech, Kansas, etc come to town. And they just might be on Sep 8th.
  24. IF that were to happen I would cease caring about the final score. J-mo would be good for 200+ every other game because nobody we will play the rest of the year will have a defense like OU's. SMU would lose to us the next week by 30.
