Exactly, it will be because (on paper at least) we will have only lost to 1 team that we were supposed to possibly beat. LSU, Tulsa, and K-State will all be favorites. Vizza won't be the issue.

I disagree. TSU fans will, and our die hards (let's face it, those are the only ones really on board right now) would. Especially if you make it your home opener so that everyone who is football starved will be there anyway. If you win, as we would and should, you add another win to the tally. Ask Texas Tech how many people put an asterisk next to their W/L record at the end of the season because they play 1AA/FCS teams. When/if they go 11-1 this season every pundit in America will be talking about their sparkling record...not the fact that it was built playing cupcakes at the front end.

Yeah, you shoulda seen the riots down in Austin when they came out to practice one day in black and orange jerseys. They were barely able to put out the fire at the capitol building.

I always had other goals in mind. 1. Win 4 games. That would put them on the "upswing" as far as their delusional fans are concerned. 2. Keep anyone gay or even homo-friendly away from practice. Definitely keep Justin Willis' boyfriend away. They don't need the distractions. 3. Become Highland Park's "team". We ALL know it will be a long, long time before they are Dallas' team, much less the metroplex's, much much less relevant in TX as a whole...let's not even cause me to piss myself laughing about them being nationally relevant. 4. Get around that damn mountain.

It seems that every preview, article, or blog I read about North Texas says something along the lines of "True freshman Giovanni Vizza was great in spots last season but made freshman mistakes. If he doesn't show more consistency highly touted freshman, and coach's son, Riley Dodge is waiting in the wings." As much as I have knocked Meager in the past, and I still think Gio is our starter, aren't they (we) all forgetting someone? My preference, should Giovanni get hurt...crosses fingers...or play himself out of the top spot, would be for Danny Meager to be our guy. Say what you will about the man but he has earned at least that much (I say "man" because, despite being benched a few games into the season and virtually written off by fans and media, he came back and was there for spring ball doing what he could for his team. He didn't have to do that.)

In a way USM is already having an effect on the Sun Belt conference...or at least North Texas

You and I would see completely eye to eye if we were starting from a baseline of no guns. If America had adopted a policy of nobody has guns 100 years ago then we would be speaking the same language. As it stands right now, though, every shithead I run across on a daily basis just might have a gun...so you can be damn sure I'll have one too (in fact 6 of them).

I don't see what point you are making. Another person made a statement about how being a POW doesn't make you qualified to lead the U.S. military, a true statement mind you. Obama then came out and stated that he appreciates and honors anyone who puts themselves in harms way, even stating that he rebuked the questioning of a man who served our country. What exactly did he do wrong again? I'm honestly starting to think there mustn't be anything policy wise that you can question Obama for. (sarcasm intended) Seems to me that you wouldn't need to paint him as the boogey man by questioning his patriotism, choice of pastors, "muslim" leanings, etc. Can the right not do any better than they have for the past few decades by attempting to frighten voters into submission?
