  1. I'm not really worried about the NFL, but there are plenty of kids with All-CUSA potential (Jordan Murray, Sam Rice, Kirby, Miles, Goree, McClain, Barr, Garner, several young defensive tackles). Put those kids in a modern college football scheme with a decent QB and we can Hit6.
  2. I don't think the talent is worse than in 2010 other than QB. I don't want to hear any BS rebuilding crap for next season. Find a QB somewhere, there are plenty of options (Smith, Grad transfer, JUCO, freshman recruit) and let's go bowling!
  3. Most JUCOs take about a half season to become acclimated to the game at this level and start contributing. That is another reason more established programs shy away from JUCOs except in rare cases.
  4. Remember that season when Riley Dodge got moved to WR because he injured his shoulder and couldn't throw more than five yards down the field, but then all our other QBs got hurt so they had to move Riley back to QB even though he couldn't throw anymore? Well, I'd rather have that version of Riley Dodge than McNulty (or as we call him in our house McNoTD) because McNoTD can't throw or run. I've been following this program closely for 20 years and have never seen such poor QB play. Someone needs to be held accountable and fired for this RV, Mac, Canales, one of them.
  5. Sad missed opportunity here for everyone: DW, Mac, Canales. If DW ever gets his head on straight he could really make this hurt, especially if he goes JUCO builds up his stock and lands at P5 (we all know he has the talent). Also hope Demarcus Smith comes in and is All-CUSA while McNulty's fingers get callouses from holding clipboard so much.
  6. This guy has been one of the most prolific RB's in DFW the last two years at Everman, averaging more than 10 yards a carry with a large workload. His highlight reel looks like Reggie Bush or Barry Sanders. He's not a big back, but since when has size mattered for a RB? Only offer so far is ULM, amazing. Scroll down the article for his highlights. http://www.dfw.com/varsity/m/#/2015/05/29/v-touch/1000029/recruiting-recap-evermans-kierre.html
  7. Interesting that Terrell said Jimmerson doesn't like practice.
  8. Lol... Funny that we are actually arguing whether or not we have the worst starting QB in FBS. Also funny that our alleged worst starting QB in FBS is head and shoulders better than his competition on the roster. How does Mike Canales still have a job?
  9. Mac obviously doesn't like Jimmerson and just tolerates him for his talent. Jimmy averaged a half yard more per rush than Wilson last season on almost 3x the number of carries. I like Wilson, too, but Jimmy has been the best RB on the team every year he has been on the team and he keeps getting the shaft. Just symbolic who starts though. Need atleast three effective runners in our system. Jimmy is good enough to get NFL preseason carries after his career here which is more than the guys who started over him his whole career ever got.
  10. Any defense would look good against McNulty. Heads should be rolling for our inability to acquire and develop talent at the quarterback position. We have way too many scholarships invested in that position to be stuck with maybe the worst starting QB in the conference. Canales deserves to be fired for the Greer evaluation alone. And now Means, a quarterback who wasn't good in high school, isn't good in college either? Imagine Canales' surprise when he figured that out. Praying that Smith comes in and saves us from another Saw movie-like season of torture at this position.
  11. His marketability is determined by the market and if you see the link below, the market considered him better than Marcus Mariota, Johnny Football, Trevone Boykin and even Brock Berglund (LOL). All Smith has done since then is transfer from an FBS school and produce massive numbers at a JUCO. Unlike most of our other recruits and ALL of our other QBs, Smith had other options. https://rivals.yahoo.com/LSU/football/recruiting/rankings/rank-2648/0
  12. Maybe not. Like Harry said, if Smith was a clean transfer, available for Spring ball, he would probably be at some P5 school right now. His lack of immediate eligibility for the Spring (combined with just two years of remaining eligibility) is probably the only reason a guy with that combination of measurables, tools, hype and production was obtainable for us.
  13. I guess this kid didn't end up signing anywhere. Must be walking on somewhere. I am hoping the next time we sign a high school QB he will have multiple FBS offers.
  14. Well, dude, I disagree. Plenty of kids never get many reps at QB in high school but still play QB in college, including Andrew McNulty AND Caleb Chumley. Dillman got as many reps at QB over his high school career as either of them. Yet both those guys remain QBs at UNT while Dillman is a TE.
  15. We know Dillman is going to be a TE. Just seems with so much recruiting coverage someone would ask Mac WHY. At one time Dillman was the top QB prospect in the country, I understand and am excited about him as a TE, but WHAT CHANGED is an important part of his story.
  16. In a perfect world you only recruit high school kids, but for a program like us with every major and mid major school in the country shopping for recruits in our backyard, JUCO is a solid strategy as the competition for those players is not as intense. I like that we are doing something different with this class and hope it achieves different results.
  17. With as much speculation as there has been on Kevin Dillman's future position, I would have liked to have seen some type of quote from Mac, Dillman or Walsh on WHY Dillman is not being considered for quarterback. I know what I have heard, but I would like to have heard it straight from one of the individuals above, especially since Mac was so adamant that he is a tight end. Seems that is relevant info considering Dillman's recruiting history.
  18. Distortion was horrible. Couldn't watch it either. Had to settle for watching the Mac press conference. Basically Mac said our QBs sucked and it is Canales' fault for recruiting the wrong kids. Mac is also complaining about the schedule and trying to lower expectations for next season.
  19. Only if he was leaving the Cowboys. Couldn't do both.
  20. I am curious who is the last DT we have signed with multiple FBS offers? I can't remember. Terrell Brooks?
  21. Very well played, Mac! I like the Dickeyball stealth recruiting angle on this. "Hey kid, do you mind keeping your commitment secret until we announce our football schedule? It is just the thing we need to increase sales."
  22. We can cry all we want about how hard it is to get quality DLine, but coffee is for closers. Since I have followed NT football the last 20 years, every year the DLine has been good to great we have gone bowling. When the DLine has not been good (about 15 of those 20 years) we have been a losing program. It is as simple as that. Don't tell me about the pain, just show me the baby. Another concern with Dillman, that hasn't really been mentioned, is that over 4 years, Dillman has played less than 15 football games total (varsity AND sub-varsity). He missed a few games because of eligibility issues, but most of the games he missed was because of one injury after another. This kid hasn't been able to keep his body healthy on the field against high school athletes. How will he hold up when everyone on the field is even bigger, faster and stronger? To sum up this recruit: he is a good kid, smart and hard-working from a high school program we need to pull players from. He has great size, speed and strength. A few years ago, based on his measurables and projections, he was deemed one of the best QB prospects in the country. For a host of reasons (injuries, eligibility, he throws the ball like a shot put) and despite playing for one of the best developers of high school QB talent in the country, Dillman failed to develop as a QB and will need to learn to play another position. That is his HS coach's opinion, the opinion of all the prestigious college coaches that once recruited him, that is Mac's opinion and most importantly that is Dillman's own opinion as he is not hanging on to the idea that he is a QB and has jumped headfirst into becoming a TE. The Kevin Dillman we are getting is not the Five Star QB prospect with offers from the best programs in the country. Our Kevin Dillman is a Two Star recruit at best with no other offers. I am glad he is part of this class and am rooting for him to be a productive player and he is certainly a very interesting story to watch develop, but no one should be pointing to Dillman as the jewel of this class.
  23. Not a good sign for Texas Tech that they are competing with us for players, but it is a positive sign for us to have Big 12-caliber kids committed.
