  2. Chris Riddle: The pro-style quarterback from Florida told me that he hasn’t spoken to the Maryland staff since a week after his trip for the Big Show, but he still remains to be a target. Riddle said if he’d have to pick a favorite, it would be North Texas right now because they’ve been showing the most interest. However, if Maryland offered, “they’d definitely be back in the mix.” Riddle, like Shaffer, has a lot of potential and his strong arm will eventually lead to an increase in his recruitment during his senior year. 3. A couple quick updates on Chris. At the end of the season he had 2 solid preferred walk-on offers (Kentucky and Rutgers) and a possible 3rd with Maryland. Long story short, Chris' heart just wasn't in being a walk-on. Chris has since elected to sign a letter of intent with Atlanta Sports Academy and committing to a year of prep school. This reclasses him as a 2016 recruit and for all intents and purposes, last years film becomes the junior film he never had due to injury. UNT is actively recruiting Chris as a 2016 QB. They are working on getting him to campus during the spring season and new NCAA rules allow him to attend D1 college camps this summer. Good to hear Chris is still on the radar for UNT in the future and we wish him only the best @ASA! http://www.hudl.com/athlete/2464718/highlights/158367386/v2
  4. There were a couple of recruiting tidbits of note to come down the pipe since last night. One of the key questions of this recruiting cycle for UNT is whether or not the Mean Green will take a quarterback. The answer will likely be affected by the way things go on a number of fronts. Can Andrew McNulty or Josh Greer, who is just a sophomore, grab the starting job and run with it? Does the light come on for Dajon Williams, who will be a redshirt freshman this fall? And perhaps most importantly in this case, does the plan to grayshirt Caleb Chumley pan out? UNT should know by the time signing day rolls around in February. Chumley is a big athlete who will start out at quarterback, but it seems like he would be great fit as a tight end or defensive end. Does he show up on campus as planned? Where does he play? 5. Chris Riddle was riding on top of the recruiting world not too long ago, waiting on a few of the top programs in the country who were recruiting him to offer a scholarship. An injury changed the course of Riddle’s recruitment and set up a key season for the Florida quarterback, who believes he could be in line to earn a scholarship offer from UNT. Riddle, a 6-foot-3, 200-pound senior at University Christian in Jacksonville first heard from UNT offensive coordinator Mike Canales a few days ago and spoke with him again on Sunday.
