I would have loved an episode that had features on one of the players, the coaching staff and a behind the scenes look at what they do during an off week. The original post was a joke considering there was no game last week, no podcast and now no Behind the Green. I was looking forward to it all day at work, finally settled in front of the television around 10pm, clicked on the Tivo only to discover no new episode.

I don't care for the one of the right, but the first two are fine by me.

Scheduling Tweet from Wren Baker: Syracuse?
UNTLifer replied to Side Show Joe's topic in Mean Green Football
Our goal now should be 6-6, for this season only. Build on that record. Boise State and Kansas State are two programs that were either not well known or a constant loser and they changed their programs by first scheduling games that they could win. If we have 8 conference games, then that leaves us with 4 OOC to schedule. Currently that includes home and homes with SMU and Army, a P5 to collect a check and one more which Mac preferred as a winnable FCS school. I like the Army and SMU series, but both, at the same time, hamper our schedule flexibility. I would prefer the following four OOC games. 1. FBS at home to work out the kinks, show areas we need to improve, etc.... while providing a win. 2. Home and home Series with SMU or a Service Academy, but not both. 3. A road P5 game that we are competitive in while collecting a large ransom. 4. A lower level P5 home and home series. This would be on the opposite rotation of the SMU/Service Academy series so that when one is at home the other is away. -
I just don't understand this thought. What is it about the SOW that you think makes it look bad on a helmet?

"Stylized Eagles/Flying Worms" on the top row. Left and Middle on the bottom row. Also, loved the HOD Bowl helmet, but it needs the correct green for the logo. I think a black metallic with green fleck with a "shadowed" eagle would look good also.

Top JUCO QB commits to MEAN GREEN

From this article, it appears he is receiving a scholarship. http://www.dentonrc.com/sports/sports-headlines/20161015-navarro-qb-chooses-unt.ece -
http://www.dentonrc.com/sports/sports-headlines/20161015-only-a-play-away.ece?ssimg=2916334#ssStory2916336 Love how this young man has stepped up his play this year. It is pretty evident from watching the BTG series that Garner is a smart ball player, is comfortable in this system and is getting after it this year. He is going to be fun to watch the next couple of years. I was critical of him last year, but man has he stepped up and proven me wrong. Loved watching his play against Marshall.

Makes one want to cheer for this young man. Wherever his football career takes him, he should realize that he is already a success. -

OU and UT are struggling to compete as is. Not sure a more competitive conference would help them out too much, but we shall see in a couple of years when the Big 12 goes away.

http://www.accuweather.com/en/us/west-point-ny/10996/hourly-weather-forecast/339795?hour=81 Going to be a wet track for at least half of the game. The Field Turf should handle the water, but the wind could be a factor.

The smart ones in all of this were Arkansas and A$M by getting out while the "getting was good." Arkansas got tired of being the only non-Texas SWC team and UT calling all the shots, and then A$M just got tired of UT ruling the roost. They are better off and their departures should have been writing on the wall for everyone else.

Preseason article on Army: http://www.sbnation.com/college-football/2016/9/1/12741760/army-football-2016-jeff-monken Army is not a bad team and has exceeded expectations this year. Monken is a great coach that will stubbornly stay with his system no matter what. We have to play disciplined football, which is somewhat concerning because none of our previous opponents have required that to the degree that Army will. This is not a gimme win by any means. I like that we had an extra week to prepare for the Army wishbone, but I also am concerned how we will come out of our bye week. Some teams are sluggish after a week off and we can't afford that at this time. I think we win a close game, a game that could go either way and will come down to the end. As I stated in another thread, we have to win the toss, score on our first possession and keep ahead of them to try and pull them out of their comfort zone of running the ball and controlling the clock.
