  1. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but this is how I see it: There are currently 16 members in the Alliance. Based on how many members they end up going with will determine UNT's chances of getting invited to the new conference. Based on the article our biggest competition for one of those spots are: Utah State, San Jose State, Louisiana Tech and FIU. If the Alliance goes to only 18 members, that leaves 2 spots. Are we one of the top two programs from the list of candidates? I think we have a chance, but I could see them going with 2 of the WAC schools instead. If the Alliance goes to 20 members, that leaves 4 spots. Are we one of the top four programs under consideration? I think so and like our chances in this scenario. If the Alliance goes to 22 members, that leaves 6 spots. Are we one of the top six programs under consideration? Yes, without a doubt. Am I missing anything here?
  2. How has that attitude been working for Louisiana Tech?
  3. Go Belt! Hoping for a sweep tonight. The conference could use it.
  4. I vote for the Son of Worm rendition with the black or green pants. I think the black pants look better, but green is one of school's colors. The breast plate design reminds me of the Atari 2600 for some reason.
  5. I feel a lot better about us making it to the Championship game for the 3rd year in a row then being knocked out in the first round of the tournament.
  6. How did the reverse jinx work for us in last year's Championship game? You know you can't jinx the jinx if the jinx is unjinxable? I'm sorry but someone had to bring this up. http://www.ehow.com/how_2124191_play-jinx.html
  7. Check the "Game on TV" thread.
  8. The only option on Dish is ESPN pay-per-view.
  9. Tony has been too focused on double doubles to worry about double negatives.
  10. Great article. Interesting comments from Tony's mother.
  11. Because RV was too busy finalizing our move into a new conference?
  12. Coasting down the mountain in neutral with the engine shut off is a lot of fun as well. The person who uses their brakes the least wins.
  13. Don't worry Tony, you'll get it next year!
  14. The Gangster Museum is a bit low budget (for example they display a gun made in the 1980's next to artifacts from the 1930's). But it is interesting to hear about the influence of organized crime in Hot Springs that lasted through the 1970's. Last year you could get a discount off of admission if you showed your ticket stub to the tourney.
  15. Keep him away from TCU players and he should be fine.
  16. Peach Basket Tournament Preview?
  17. If you are looking for something more family friendly and don't mind a 15 minute drive into town, you may want to look at the Hot Springs Village. 8 golf courses, several play grounds for the kids, several lakes, hiking trails, etc. We stayed at Escapes! in the Hot Spring Village last year and it worked out great for us.
  18. You know what they say...if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.
  19. Wow, JJ's kids look nothing like him. Can you still get milk delivered to your house in Denton?
  20. What? TCU hasn't played us in either football or basketball in over 10 years. At least SMU has agreed to play us in football.
  21. This will be the biggest game of the regular season. Mark it.
  22. Going to UNT would be a short commute from his dad's house.
  23. Agreed, the only way we are going to get an invite to the Big XII is if the Athletic Department is run by fans on the internet. We should continue to b*tch about everything they do, then tell them how they should have done it in the first place. We are never going to be a conference with the Dallas Cowboys unless we raise our standards around here.
