  1. I up vote you on most posts EPE, but this one's a no from me. It's giving me too much SLC/Dodge vibes for some reason. Not sure if it's the too much white in the TX or the color or ??.
  2. What do you mean by this? I really don't know. Are you saying PB only implements schemes that are designed to be effective against air raid teams? I don't know enough about his history or philosophy to know that's the case.
  3. Yeah, that seems like the most important question to be asking. Hey, Cam, how's that PhD dissertation coming along? Getting close?
  4. A Fresno team that got beat by the team we're about to play 40-20. 😟 Edit - Forgot they played a second time and lost to FS.
  5. I guess the expanded playoff will change it, but the bowl games just about turned into the equivalent of NFL Pro Bowl.
  6. You've MISSED THE POINT of this entire discussion. It's not about not playing in the game (I don't agree with it, but that's a different topic). It's about deceiving those around him that he was going to play, simply to participate in the "fun" stuff and get freebies while all the while he knew he wasn't going to play. That's that part about not having honor and ethics. I'm sure you'll still miss the point since numerous people have tried to explain it to you and I doubt another attempt will do any good.
  7. I really hope the records get to show PB as 1-0 as MG head coach!
  8. So, is he going to be wearing a shirt consisting of every color he's ever worn as a DC? What's the "colorful" part of the story??? Is it supposed to be the quote?
  9. It's about living in a society of civilized, honorable, dependable, ethical people. Yeah, it's "old man yelling at clouds" because we were once mostly a society that did uphold those values. Now, the society is degrading into "all about me" attitudes which are NOT compatible with a healthy society.
  10. We could have called that same play 15 times this year and gotten: 3 passes into the receiver's feet at the 5yd line 2 passes behind the receiver at the 5yd line 1 pass 10ft over the receiver's head at the goal line 2 passes directly to the defender at the 5yd line 1 pass directly to the defender in the end zone on the "N" 6 perfect passes just like is in the video with 1 of those being dropped
  11. "What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?"
  12. All he has to do is WIN. The rest will take care of itself.
  13. Somebody send a message to Cameron Ward to tell him there's a Whataburger (actually 3) in Denton, TX!! https://247sports.com/college/louisville/Video/Cameron-Ward-puts-Jake-Dickert-on-the-spot-11097288/
  14. Here's some details on one of the QBs (Jayden de Laura) that got "run off" from WSU. Looks like the only thing EM has to do with it is being hired as the new OC and planning to bring with him a top QB. Are we supposed to be upset with EM if he brings a new QB here? https://247sports.com/college/washington-state/Article/Jayden-de-Laura-Saga-at-WSU-football-is-one-for-the-ages-197273981/ Another is Cammon Cooper who went to Hawaii. I don't see any negative comments here other than he was asked to do a bit more running and not as much "air raid" which he preferred. https://247sports.com/college/hawaii/Article/Cammon-Cooper-Hawaii-football-quarterback-commit-Washington-State-transfer-Rainbow-Warriors-Cougars-180422602/ I'm not finding much of anything regarding players not wanting to play for EM. Are there some specific comments that have been made, etc. ?
  15. Just imagine how great would it be in 10-12 years to have a conversation with someone about our QB situation and go: "Yeah, coach has been producing more great QBs. We had a guy a while back, Mason Fine, that was pretty good, but nothing like...." In reality, I'll never forget how great it was to have MF around here, so I wouldn't say that, but you get the point.
  16. Not quite, but he was only doing "various capacities", so not a lot of blame on him. From wikipedia: "Before Appalachian State, Riley spent three seasons (2016-18) at Kansas in various capacities."
  17. This board just about came unglued when people thought Kenny Perry was going to be hired. A few hours later SSG gets a downvote for saying he's gonna' wait to see what kind of coach is hired before throwing more money at the program.
  18. I also doubt this will be very exciting for those currently on the roster and will not be advantageous in trying to keep players. Bring in a big name and maybe you get them enthused and want to stay. I'm definitely worried that we could end up hiring KP, but not gonna' get too freaked out until it is a bit more than an Internet rumor. If he is hired, it would be a major disappointment. Perry had 3 HS head coaching jobs, spanning 12 years. His biggest success was during his 7 years at Arlington Bowie with 2 seasons of 7-4 and 5 seasons with 10+ wins. After that, he bounced around for 1-2 years at various jobs mostly as a special teams or recruiting coach. His highest level of coaching was co-defensive coordinator at KSU for 2015-2018 (a team that went 6-42 in those 4 years). From wikipedia:
  19. It's all a positive until (as NT80 said) he holds us hostage for a personal preference. I'll gladly take his money but with NO STRINGS ATTACHED.
  20. If he's been hired, I'd think meeting with the team and giving a quick "go get 'em" speech might be helpful for retaining those on the fence about leaving. I realize it could be considered inappropriate/disrespectful for the interim coaches or that it might be a distraction. Also, I actually first read this as "UNT suit"! Could go with the full "Elton John" option or a simple blazer.
  21. Sounds like a little more than "played in" 4 games. https://www.buffzone.com/2022/12/01/cu-buffs-freshman-qb-owen-mccown-to-put-name-in-transfer-portal/ "Originally slated to redshirt so he could develop his body, McCown came off the bench to make his debut late in a 49-7 loss to Minnesota on Sept. 17. He then started the next three games. In his third start, Oct. 15 at Folsom Field against California, McCown was banged up and relieved by junior JT Shrout. McCown was unable to play the next few weeks wound up sitting out the final six games so he could preserve his redshirt. He played in four games, the maximum allowed to keep a redshirt, so he will have four seasons of eligibility remaining."
  22. Yeah every one of the new teams from CUSA except for Rice and the conference champ.
