How involved was RF in recruiting this crop of qb's? How much of a factor is that?

Pretty decent upbeat interview. Mostly, it was just coach stuff. "We've gotta fight harder", "We've had success, but we need consistency" etc. I can't believe I'm starting to like this guy...and it's only taken, what 5 years.

How do you fit in there?

And I think FSU has a good relationship with the Seminole Tribe. I can't find info to back that up. But I do recall reading that. FSU should tell the NCAA to go ... well we'll keep it clean.

I think the NCAA has overreached it's bounds. The one thing I haven't heard is outrage by Native American groups about the use of various nicknames. None of the articles cite tribal leaders, or mention any group of any kind that may be upset about this. And Plumm, I'm one of those "gol' darn liberal do-gooders", but "revisionist". ?I have no idea what that refers to. I suggest reading "Lies my teacher told me". A wonderful book about how our history books in classrooms are just wrong! So I wouldn't call it revision, but an accurate telling of history would be nice, though.

Is that copyrighted material or premium material? I search AP at work all the time and occasionaly cut and paste it here. Premium material I understand b/c it's paid for, but if it's free and copyrighted, do we just need to provide a link? I'm so confused. Dr. Glick's "Broadcast law" class was so long ago and I don't think the 'net was around then. At least not on my Commodore. GO MEAN GREEN!!!!!!!!

These things are growing in popularity. UT has done one for a few years now. I think it's a neat idea, but I seriously wonder how many people will show on a Wednesday.

I think Dickey should have been able to develop a couple of options at QB by now. One was lost by tragedy, and one has flunked out. How good were his recruiting skills? We'll find out. Speaking of recruiting how's DeLoach doing? He was our best defensive recruiter / coach. I think our defense has sufffered w/o him. GO MEAN GREEN

You know, going to school is hard enough, but to go through this crap as well is a lot of pressure. And just imagine being at a school where millions of dollars riding on your performance. I'm vowing not to read anymore posts with the topic line as his eligibility. When our athletic deprtment has something to say, I'll listen.

This does sound dumb. As far as the number of copies made though, I can understand going through that many. If you want publicity, you have to provide the press with something. Plus each game there a tons of these given away in the press room. That's how I get mine.

Just a side note here, but my high school (Longview High School) used the term "Mean Green" in reference to the defense ("Mean Green D", as I recall). And the marching band was know as the "Mean Green Marching Machine" (Yes, I was a band geek). I don't know if it was lifted from NT, and I don't know if they still use it, but the term has been used in places other than North Texas. GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!

I was thinking that various frats on campus would do a better job of doing this, but the more I think of it this does sound more like a talons project. Either way we could definitley benifit from advertising like this.

Not me, but I had a similar situation in Austin when I saw a "UNT" sticker on a car. I told my wife "As Pres elect of the Austin chapter of NT exes I think I'm obligated to talk to that guy." She said, "O.K., just not on I-35 at 65mph. O.K. hon." Darn! GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!!

Here's how starved I am for Mean Green sports communications. I actually read a GGII post. But I'm not ready to drink the green kool aid just yet. I hope we put up a good fight against BCS elite teams but until Dickey shows a willingness to game plan against them I remain pessimistic. I will, however, continue to contribute to the mean green as much as I can. Because one day...someday...we will be on a par with the rest of them. GO MEAN GREEN !!!!!!!!!

Wal Mart also used to promote "Made in the USA" until they got called on it. Actually very little of their products are made in the USA and those that are made are actually made in American provinces not restricted by labor laws. Don't get me started on this corporation. Support your LOCAL businesses! GO MEAN GREEN !
