  1. Contrary to whats been said on here he was a poor recruiter at UT in his last 5 years. As in he didn't.
  2. No no no no... Nooooooooooo. UT couldn't push him out fast enough. This would be the RV of all hires. Sounds like the 17 is behind this.
  3. there is ways a bump in recruiting with a new coach, if we go with a young offensive minded coach from a P5 I think that bump might be more of a spike
  4. Hate to see them go but it opens up more spots for our next coach to fill in his first class.
  5. We had one great season under him, but that season was a fluke. From playing against something like 7 freshman qb's(BillySee can answer that), to the special teams, and the defensive touchdowns. Giving Mac the extension after that was a big mistake.
  6. Not a good landing spot for an up and coming coach. It's a lot easier to turn around a UNT than it is Iowa State.
  7. Odell Beckhams catch last season doesn't happen without gloves. Gloves make a HUUUGE difference in grabbing a football. Honestly, there is almost no reason that a WR should ever drop a ball.
  8. Whoever can bring in the best recruits. That's what I want because that's what will get this thing turned around the quickest.
  9. Briles seems to be doing ok on the road against a ranked team, with his 3rd string qb who was a wr till 3 weeks ago
  10. Recruiting recruiting recruiting. We need a coach who can recruit more than anything.
  11. Still won't keep him from going to UT or A&M, whichever opens up first.
  12. Boise didn't get to where they are/were by scheduling top 5 teams every year. Or by scheduling 2 in a single year. They scheduled winnable games at first, won them, built up the program to a point where they then could play those bigger opponents and win. Edit: looks like Jesse and I were on the same wave length!
  13. Good write up and dead on. Should be a lot of action from the day the coach is hired to signing day. He has almost a full class to bring in himself.
  14. 1.25 would be an average deal in 2015. In 2020, I imagine that will be nothing.
  15. 1 million still isn't the going rate though!
  16. Wow....$750,000 is pocket change these days. $1,000,000 plus is almost the starting point with most being closer to $1.5. Very discouraging. Hate to be a RV basher but it basically takes 2 RV money games to equal 1 money game for most other schools. Hell, didn't we pay Portland St 300k+ to come whoop our ass??!?
  17. What is UNT being paid for the Tennessee beating?
  18. It means they would be available sooner. It's tough to leave a team who's in the playoff, but a little easier to leave a team who's just playing in the Cotton Bowl.
  19. I don't think that would be an issue with him. But it would also matter what coordinators were brought in.
