Did anybody see College Football Live yesterday at 5:30pm? That are crossing the nation state by state talking about the schools in those states. Teaxs part II was yesterday. While they didn't actually mention UNT yesterday (not sure about the day before since Texas got 2 days of coverage based on total number of D-I schools) they did have a current UNT helmet on display. I got a little jazzed about seeing that on national TV... Any press is good press. I guess if doesn't take much to get the UNT spark going!!!!!

For those concerned about how good Riley is/can be, remember that he was recruitred to play at Texas. I think they have put a few goodQB's on the field in the past few years!!!! Mack would not have recruited him if he didn't see something. I think Riley has that special talant that can pull a team together and take it to the next level. I see a conference championship by his Soph year.

You dont pay the band members, in fact they are students at the school who are paying tuition. You can play in the band as long as you want to, as long as you are willing to do the work...no aging out. Like somebody said, uniforms are paid for. I see some bands wearing shorts and tee shirts....not a bad idea in Florida. I just dont see the cost...insurance? do they feed them? I can't see a college game withoout a band. Cheerleaders? Must be the insurance cost. I dont see a coach working for 25K, so that must not be in the cost reduction either. I think this is a bad idea. The numbers just don't make sense....College football is half pageatry...which includes the band and cheerleaders....

Just my thought on the importance of depth in ALL position with equal talant. A few years ago when UNT was winning Belt titles, but still taking on body-bag games with UT and OU...... I was up in Norman for one of the games. UNT kept knocking OU players out of the game. I bet we sent 6 - 7 players to the showers early. The problem was, the back-up that came in was an underclassman who was bigger and faster with just as much talant waiting for their turn to play. OU wore us down through attrition. I think that was the game we were ahead 13 - 3 at the end of the first quarter. Final score was something like 63 - 13.....but you see what I am saying!!!! We need depth at ALL positions to compete with the Big Boys and dominate at the S-Belt level.....

I thought TD had elevated the overallgpaon the team. Does this take into account the defections from the last 2 years? I am confused as to how they grade this thing? Is it like when a coach violates recruiting rules, leaves a team, and the NCAA hammers the team anyway?

Not sure about his coaching skill, but recruiting will be his strong point. He gets all his NBA buddies kids coming up to start, builds a strong team ealy, then he will have recruits wanting to play for him
