If it's 18 schools then I don't like our chances. If it's 20 then it's hard to see us not making it. Even if we don't, the idea of having semifinals and a final championship sounds exciting.

The new "national conference" will have 18 to 24 teams. If they stay at 18 then we're in trouble. If they expand to 20 it's hard to see us not getting in. We just need patience ... we should have plenty of experience with that.

Interesting ... the fact that Boise will probably be in the MWC this coming year adds another team to the conference that I had not been counting on. If this new conference comes into being then they have another reason to wait before adding more teams.

I love the conferences combining ... as long as we get in.

I missed the first half but in the second both teams are running and pressing. They took a time out just to catch their breaths. This is a fun game.

I don't know if we can compare ourselves with Troy. Troy will sign a ton of players who they pretty much know have little change to quality. They hope that after a year or two of JC they will sign back with Troy. If these guys qualify and we give them scholarships (whether it's a 2012 or 2013 scholarship) then that's one thing. If a half dozed of these guys don't qualify them maybe we're being like Troy. I wonder how much grey shirting Mac did at Iowa St?

I was hoping Hines could come in and contribute right away. That a number of reaasons why these three were selected over the others. Hopefully we'll get the answer tomorrow. I think greyshirting is interesting because you're taking scholarships from next year to use this year. I guess maybe the "one in the hand" idea at work?

22 seems like such an odd number. You can't evenly break that into sub divisions so either you're playing 10 division games a year (and none from the other division) or you're not playing everyone in your division (which stinks). The only thing I can think of for 22 is they want to grab all the markets they can without losing any current teams while leaving enough teams so not to kill the WAC or Sun Belt. What might be cool (and I emphasis *might*) is if the NCAA allow this conference to have a bit of a mini playoff. You increase the conference to 24 with four, six team divisions. You then take those four division winners and have a four team bracket to decide a conference champion.

This would seem to be great news for us as we should be a prime pick to fill one of the 22 spots. However, I just don't quite understand the reasoning for having a 22 team conference
