It sounds like he could be a good hire. It also makes me think that if he's interested then it's more evidence as to how much interest this job has. There may be better candidates applying that we haven't heard about.

Hopefully they will make some decision this month. One interesting comment from that thread linked to is if they merge slowly then all the MWC football teams could play in the CUSA as a starting point to a future full merger.

JJ had signed a longer contract. It really doesn't mean a whole lot unless it greatly added to the buyout cost.

I'm sure he's pushing Forrest for the job. We just don't know if RV is listening. If Forrest was offered the job then they probably want to wait a few days so the women's hire can have his time in the spot light.

It was an article from late last week: My link Granted, it is from a UTSA source but it's a source nonetheless. The article doesn't mention Utah State or San Jose State. I agree with someone who said earlier that the "sources" the writer talked to may have meant UTSA is third for the CUSA side of the alliance.

With the women's opening Rick took a week to gather resume's and to define exactly what they were looking for. Then a second week for interviews. One interview was last weeks and supposedly a second one was this weekend. I would think the men's search would be similar. It could go quicker if a well-known or a slam-dunk resume comes across RV's desk.

If right now I was betting money on the a 20 team alliance I'd bet on this. ECu won't be happy but oh, well.

It depends on the criteria. The basis of the article written last week was that FIU and UNT are in and UTSA is up to third. If that is correct then they would probably go west. I think Utah State is perfered by the MWC, though. UTSA vs San Jose ... I might take UTSA.
