Why has HP not moved up into 5A yet?? A friend of mine who follows high school football religiously was telling me HP misses the 5A dropoff every year by 4 or 5 students. Seriuosly, 59-0 in the state title game, A FOOTBALL GAME, is a ridiculous .

People want to hold athletes to a higher level and so do the universities. They are the faces of the institutions they play for. With that said, everyone must understand the overall graduation rate of the student body isn't even close to ideal. Believe it or not, most kids don't finish college.

Needs: #1-> D-Line Size #2-> Offensive Tackle #3-> QB #4-> MLB speed #5-> Corner The Offense struggled due to QB and mediocre play from both tackles. The center got better as the year went on. Let's hope Rose and Phillips/Juco/Byerly/Meager will improve over the offseason. The poor run defense was a direct hit on the undersized DT's and average MLB play. Mendoza has a huge heart & motor but is too slow, IMO. He's a 2 down situational player at best. Upgrading the MLB position alone will improve the D tremendously. As for record, I'm still unsure. My MG heart says 7-5 and a Bowl birth, but my brain says with DD a record of 5-7 is more likely.

The Big12 is one of the worst conferences this year(still light years better than the Belt ). Their next best team isn't even in the top 15. Just look at how ridiculous the score was for this year's title game. Iowa St. couldn't beat Kansas to clinch even after they were given a favor when the Buffs were blasted by an average Nebraska team. Don't get me wrong, I still believe the NC will be one helluva game.

This UT team couldn't beat the OU team that got spanked by USC or LSU in the previous two title games. This years USC team, although having their worst defense in 4 seasons, has the best offense in college football. An offense that will force Texas to keep up with them. Something Texas is not used to doing. USC - 45 UT - 24 My money will be on USC. I hope the public pounds Texas enough to get the line under 5.5 by gametime.

Matt Millen has to be the dumbest GM in the NFL. That team has gone nowhere since he's been there. He cooled his seat off a bit when he "Mariuccied" Steve Mariucci. Detroit just needs a QB to build around. They should've given Mike McMahan a shot at Qb before dumping their future into the hands of Harrington.

I'll give Devil Dickey credit for having the guts to put the blame on himself. This is EXACTLY what NT fans/alums need to hear. His career at NT will come down to the SMU game.

It's not fluff. As an ex-lineman in college and high school I can tell you that protection is needed. Pads, bands, etc. have become more stylish. Yes, some are overused but generally it serves a purpose. You'd be crazy not to use at least gloves and forearm protection.

Ok, well here's my Hot Sports Opinion : This team would be better off with Dickey gone and Flanigan at Head Coach.

Why not focus on talent in our own backyard? It's PATHETIC NT can't recruit Denton, Dallas, & Ft.Worth.

I love this proposition. Sadly, SMU would spank NT if the two teams faced off today. It may take a cross town Rival to kick NT where it hurts before the DD L & A's(lovers and apologists) green colored glasses come off.
