Eric Peagram gave my son a wrist band after a practice his senior year (I think). I took it to keep it in a safe place. Also, 8 ticket stubs from 4 New Orleans Bowls. And best of all, 2 football and basketball season tickets from lower section E and row 2 behind the bench. Both over 25 years old. GO MEAN GREEN

Certainly there are some exceptions, but for the most part, after football and men's basketball, I stand by what I said. The only time "other" sports will be mentioned on TV sport show is in a "feature" segment. All sports, especially NT sports should be supported, but the reality is that support falls off quickly after the aforementioned sports. Poor attendance is not only the fact, it's expected. Imagine if 8,000 came to the next volleyball or softball game. I enjoy going to the softball games, but for the most part, they are undersupported. Not rightly so, but undersupported none the less. GO MEAN GREEN

To me, the difference is that after football and men's b ball, the rest of the sports are invisible. How many women's b ball games have you been to ? Who's your favorite swimming/diving athlete ? I'm not saying it's right, just the way it is. I also think Tina has something other coaches don't. I used to think it was a photo of Dr. Hurley in his jammies. I don't think there is a coach at NT that has been around nearly as long. Her win/loss record is not good, yet I've never heard her face any pressure to win. GO MEAN GREEN

I would like to sell my tickets (2) to the game. I would have had a hard time going back in Sept. and Oct. 29 is impossible. These are the tickets I bought from the NT athletic dept. Call me (940) 387-9314. Ask for the North Texas ticket box office. Joe

I asked last night and got one of those, "you should know the answer to that question" looks, but I don't know. If he got his grades on track, could he come back ? Would he be welcomed if he did ? I thought the students and the alums did their part last night. I haven't seen the TV replay, but it sounds like we did OK in that dept as well.

It was against Southern Miss. I was there. Bobby Collins was the coach and left after the season to coach at SMWho. There couldn't have been more than 100 fans in the stadium. I've taken showers and not gotten so wet. We lost, but it seems to me that the score was very close. GO MEAN GREEN

I'm sure you know much more about twirlers than me, but all through my high school career, our marching band had 4. I don't know how good they were, but they always looked great to me. I especially liked it when they twirled firey batons. As far as A & M, I saw their halftime show last Thursday. Not a rifle in sight. The honor guard contained 2 rifles for the posting of the colors, but not a firearm in the band. Why doesn't the band twirl trombones, or golf clubs, or a bicycle ? Why does it have to be a rifle, when there is no other reference to militarism ? As far as the flags, I'm glad that the flag corp now use flags that actually are green or white. For years we used red or gold or purple. I think I'll print a bumper sticker-Twirl flags, not guns. GO MEAN GREEN

The uniforms are OK. Nothing to write home about, but they're not offensive. What does bother me though is the men and women twirling "rifles." If we are a military academy then that's one thing. But what's the deal with the armed band ? I also would like to see a pretty girl twirling a baton. I think that says "big time program." GO MEAN GREEN

Well, I decided to return to to school. I'm taking 6 hours appx. every other Saturday. Being a new student, I got a nice letter from Dr. Pohl. He was glad I was going to school and ya ya ya... Since he knew I was proud to be a NT student, he sent me a decal. IN THE OLD GREEN AND BLUE STAR LOGO ! I was just surprised and yes, I know, it wasn't Dr. Pohl that sent the letter but wouldn't you think some assistant would get the right sticker to send out to new students. By the way, I got my "gift with donation" last night at the mixer held at the Athletic Complex. It's a great banner (not a flag) with the correct logo in white on a green field. The words "Mean Green" are across the bottom. It looks good. I placed it over one of my wife's favorite paintings in the living room. She says that it will be moved. See you at the game.
