  1. If the $$$ is there, i would think it's much easier to hang on to basketball coaches. Look at the jobs Jones reportedly turned down to stay here, and that was before the $$$ got much better. Unless you are going to one of the true Blue Blood programs (Duke, UNC, Kentucky, Kansas, etc...) you have just about as good a chance of winning a National Title at North Texas as you do a low to mid level multi-bid league. Only difference would be the smaller margin for error to get into the Tourney, but that's it.
  2. I love how so many on here bad mouth P5 college football and even more specifically top end P5 college football. What if SMU hadn't been a little bitch all those years ago and ole Mr. Fry got us into the SWC...Then on the split, the new Big 12 decided they wanted UNT instead of Texas Tech....Now we are in the P5 and who knows, maybe even the upper tier with Texas and such....do we all spit the same garbage about semi-pro and elitism that gets spit now? Doubt it. So just because I'm a fan of UNT doesn't mean i cant enjoy all of college football....because call it what you want....i thoroughly enjoy it, and will continue to do
  3. Isn't a volleyball gym in the plans of the new arena? As well as a separate mens and woman practice court, golf facilities, and coaches offices, locker rooms, sports medicine facilities, and weight rooms for these 4 sports?
  4. So is Alabama and Clemson, (both of which played a much tougher schedule). Am i excited to watch...YES I don't understand why you wouldn't want to watch two very good if not great football teams square off. I sure do, why? because i like watching good college football As far as the lack of ticket sales, i would firmly put this on the location not the matchup. Two teams from across the country with 1 week to make plans to a very expensive destination and 1 that has proven time and time again that it does not support college football (see Pac 12 championship games, standard and cal attendance figures, etc...)
  5. So you truly think these are not the two best teams in college football?
  6. The first game of a season during the successful part of the Johnny Jones era was played in the old Pit (Mens Gym) do to a robotics event that was scheduled at the Super Pit at the same time i believe it was. Also, someone already mentioned that the woman had to play a game at TWU one year as well. So yes it does happen that athletics gets bumped due to scheduling. They also want a new arena so they can add in the premium seating options like suites and such that can't be done at the Super Pit unless you decrease the number of seats, and that aint happening due to the College and HS graduation ceremonies, plus the other events that need the 10k seats that the Super Pit provides.
  7. I don’t think there is any plan to demolish the SuperPit. New arena or not. If a new arena gets built, the superpit will still exist. That thing hosts way more events than basketball and it would be freeed up to host more.
  8. Arizona is generally pretty good, UCLA is as name brand as they come, Washington is usually pretty good, outside of that, it’s pretty hot or miss
  9. At this point, it would have to be us, and i don't think we could lose more than 1 regular conference game, and then lose the championship game at most, and even then im not sure it would get us in as an at large
  10. thats a big gutty win...La Tech is one of the 2-3 best teams we have played this year and we found a way.
  11. I agree with you when Ryan is sitting, but penetrating the defense is his game and there are very few in the country better
  12. That’s what for us? 5 straight charges?
  13. What is the least amount of losses we can afford (besides the championship game) do we think would give us a chance at an at large bid? (i know that depends on where the loss occurs and to who, but just blanket talk here). 1 i would guess. Would 32-3 get us in? maybe 31-4?
  14. Could the team foul trouble be a little bit of a blessing in disguise? all their free throws are like extra time outs for us
  15. These refs just need to back off on both ends and let the teams play
  16. probably are....this is a full court game by both teams played at Altitude. Keep the subs fresh and we should be good
  17. From a very good source...he is not 100% to return, but is unlikely to leave.
  18. If I'd have to guess, only about 5 at most....Oklahoma, Alabama, Clemson, UCF,...........ok maybe 4. edit (maybe Houston as well)
  19. yes and no, the parking pass is in a reserved area, directly across from the pit. so you are guaranteed a spot close to the stadium
