If I understand the situation correctly, the car dealership was recently sold and it was the new ownership that made the school aware of the situation.

I saw that yesterday, but there wasn't uniform info. The pictures they are showing from practice have all white helmets.

I thought it was pretty good idea when I saw it. It makes sure the tix go to UNT fans. If someone that say, lived south of Austin, and really wanted to go, they could probably ask someone on here that was not going and had season tix to buy their allotment and pass them on a face value. Just a thought...

I found it interesting that Matt Phillips was at the Kickoff Cookout signing autographs Saturday night wiht Quinn, Thomas, and Rose. Did Meager make an appearance? If not, I think this says a little about leadership among the prospects.

I think a mid-major is considered to be any D-1 team not in the BCS. Low-major would be D-1AA.

It may be sign of improvement in our scheduling not we are not mentioned in that article!

Stebo, I think you are on to something here. We need to convince RV to setup this game as soon as Texas State becomes D-I, then we can play a game each year for the Bakula Trophy. ESPN would send someone for that reason alone!

If you want to know the biggest source of the problem, go out to the internet and try to find athletic equipment in kelly green. Try to find helmets, warm-up suits, t-shirts, jerseys (pick a sport)or any other accessory in that color. I managed to find one company that carries kelly green helmets, but that is the only item they carried in that color - no other uniform pieces.

In any case, I don't blame them. I would get out of Canton, too! I have family there and it can be an interesting place.

I had a few people PM for details so here there are: 1) The helmet is used and has sticker that read "This helmet has been recertified according to procedures established to meet the NOCSAE standard" and dated 1979. 2) Size is 6 7/8 3) All of the pads are insides, including the ear pads. Not really interested in trading for anything.

BTW, this is from 1979. There is a reconditioned sticker inside the helmet with the info.

I showed some pics of this about a year ago and some people told me if I thought about getting rid of it to let them know. I can't remember who all emailed me, but I am most likely going to sell this. Before I took it to Ebay, I thought I would offer it up here. Getting rid of some of my full size helmets and replacing them with minis. If you are interested, just let know, send me an offer, etc.

Last night, I was talking to someone who works for the city. He said they have been amazed that this has taken the Denton RC by storm. This purchase has been openly discussed in public meetings in Denton for last six months, including (according to this individual) the zoning and planning commission meetings, utility planning, and street and traffic planning. The problem is that the Denton RC never has anyone there to review the meetings or even to read over the info. Apparently, the company was making no attempt to hide their plans before the purchase and was actively making inquiries into construction issues.

Did I say I supported tearing it down?

I think you brilliantly captured what about 80 percent of Denton thinks of this area and one reason the teardown is going to happen.
