  1. Really? Or is this a bit that I missed from last time?
  2. Lafayette has had a great start, but other than beating an injured FIU team, have only beat the teams they were supposed to. If NT played the same schedule that Lafayette did, we very well could be 3-2, or even 4-1 like them. I'd love to be able to play FIU again.
  3. Sunday results around the Belt: ULL 0-4 NT ULM 0-3 Denver FAU 2-1 Troy FIU 2-0 USA WKU 3-2 ASU MTSU 1-0 UALR Records through 4 games (Teams in red we have played already): (4-0): NT, FIU, Denver (2-1-1): USA (2-2): Troy, MTSU, WKU (1-2-1): FAU (1-3): ASU, UALR (0-4): ULM, ULL After a couple more games I'll start incorporating some tiebreakers. This weekend NT hosts Troy, and USA. NT hosts Denver to end the season, but a big game to watch out for is @FIU. WKU and MTSU have gotten back on track now, and should end up in the top 5 when all is said and done with USA and Troy dropping out. The top 8 teams make the conference tournament, which will be hosted by MTSU.
  4. Touche I suppose. I was pissed last night, but certainly didn't get the feeling we didn't belong on the same field as them like the Dodge era though.
  5. If this was the case, I understand the thinking, but are we really in a position to sit our starters out to save them for conference play? Surely Coach Mac knew that the game last night was winnable. Now, if we had been playing Alabama a week before conference started, I say take a team full of the entire practice squad and student volunteers to strap on pads and literally take one for the team.
  6. I have not had a chance to go back and read all of the threads on the Tulsa game (I was there last night and have been doing homework all day), but if people are saying that are not going because of last night, that is absolutely pathetic. The LAST thing we need right now is for our crowds to drop to abysmal levels. The support needs to be there this year no matter what.
  7. The score was not indicative of how competitive we were. We equaled them in yards gained (although they did it way quicker than us). We had two chances inside the 5 and came away with nothing. Also, two INT's for TD that probably would not have happened if Osborn or Thompson had been playing. I'm not knocking Mcnulty because he is after all a true freshman, but they (at least to me) looked like true freshman throws that probably would not have been made by either of the other QB's. We could have had that game close going into the fourth quarter. We didn't, and it is what it is, but the final score was more indicative of the type of game it was than 41-3 would have been.
  8. Romo is an OK quarterback, he just isn't great. Regardless, of all the quarterbacks on the roster, he gives us by far the best chance to win. It is what it is. The loss today was painful though.
  9. I have to believe we get 17-19k next week. That is bad for the new stadium, but could be worse...I really think winning the game at home will help attendance more than anything...as sad as it sounds, I don't think the average student even pays attention to what happens on the road...
  10. Go Mean Green! 4-0 in conference play!
  11. Friday night around the Sun Belt (home teams on the left): FIU 3-0 Troy FAU 1-1 USA ULM 0-1 NT WKU 1-0 UALR MTSU 3-0 ASU ULL 1-2 Denver WKU and MTSU get back on track tonight. Louisiana-Lafayette gave Denver all they could handle (Denver scored with 1:30 left in 2OT), which is a very respectable performance, and makes me a little nervous about NT visiting the Cajuns on Sunday. Here are the records 3 games in to the conference season: (3-0): Denver, NT, FIU (2-0-1): USA (2-1): Troy (1-2): ASU, UALR, MTSU, WKU (0-2-1): FAU (0-3): ULL, ULM
  12. We were picked to win the west this year, but already having two losses, and Denver being very good, it is going to be very, very difficult at this point. That was the first time we had lost a vball game @ ULM since 1991.
  13. NT loses in 5 sets...this is a VERY, VERY, embarassing loss. That is an understatement too.
  14. All tied up at two sets each: 25-17, 24-26, 23-25, 25-20 Heading to set #5.
  15. North Texas splits the first two sets: 25-16, 24-26
  16. Game starts at 6:00pm. North Texas leads the all-time series 20-10. ULM broke their 83 match conference losing streak a couple days ago beating ULL. They hadn't won a conference game since 2006. Go Mean Green! Live Stats Link
  17. Final Score... North Texas 1-0 Louisiana-Monroe Ellen Scarfone with the long goal on a penalty kick. NT moves to 3-0 in conference play. Next up: Louisiana-Lafayette on Sunday
  18. NT Goal! Ellen Scarfone scores in the 51st minute to put NT up 1-0!
  19. Friday, Sept. 30, 2011 - 4 p.m. North Texas Mean Green (7-3-1, 2-0-0 SBC) at ULM Warhawks (5-5-1, 0-2-0 SBC) ULM Soccer Complex (500) - Monroe, La. Series History: North Texas leads 4-1-0 Last Meeting: W, 4-0 (10/1/2010) at NT ULM Live Stats (Link available at game time) As long as NT is healthy, this should be a win. I'll be following along with the Live Stats as much as I can. Go Mean Green!
  20. If we beat Tulsa on Saturday we have better looking women. If we lose to Tulsa on Saturday we still have better looking women.
  21. If we beat Tulsa Saturday then we have a great shot at a bowl game and averaging over 20k for the rest of the year. If we lose to Tulsa on Saturday, we still have a small chance at getting to six wins, but attendance will suffer for the FAU game.
