  1. I would have voted Jamario because we really need a solid running game, but we also need to have a breakout year on the O-line in order to establish any sort of running game. I voted for Chad Rose because if he can step up his game, maybe the rest of the O-line can step up and do well. Jamario has the talent to run wild provided that his O-line blocks for him and provides him holes to run through. (Although we really REALLY REALLY need a dependable QB!!) Come on Chad, don't disappoint me!
  2. I am the only one who went to UNT and who bleeds Mean Green. I got both my bachelor and master's at UNT. My mom went to Creighton, my dad went to Wisconsin-Madison, and my brother got his bachelor's at UT-Austin and is in current pursuit of his MBA at UT. Gotta love the Mean Green!
  3. I'm in!!! Bio: Gutsy, no holds bar player who has hands like velcro. While never intended, playing dirty is not beneath me! The opposition better watch out for this feisty red head! When push comes to shove, this marching Mean Green fanatic will be devoted to her team and will do anything to win. Shirt: GreenBrigadeDebbie XL
  4. I am so eager to get my season tickets. When do they go on sale?? And what kind of season ticket packages are there? Sorry if I didn't already know this, but this will be my first season as an alum!! So if anyone could give me some information I would certainly appreciate it!! GO MEAN GREEN!!!!!!
  5. The refs were HORRIBLE. I am not a basketball buff, but I saw too many botched calls by refs. Our team could have won or maybe lost a heartbreaker, but we should not have lost as much as we did. I am very disappointed in the way the refs called the game. We were robbed of this game from the beginning. What a shame that the Sun Belt is associated with these refs. But I still love my Mean Green!
  6. How much will the doubleheader next Saturday? Now that I am an alum, I have to pay to get in and don't much how much it will be....Does anyone know??
  7. Uhhh, I am already graduating with a master's!!
  8. Ok, so Vince had a good year. But obviously people thought Bush was more deserving of the Heisman. GET OVER IT VINCE!
  9. Meanmag, Maybe not permanent but I guess a full time job!! And one that does not include the words grocery store.....
  10. I am graduating THIS Saturday (the 17th) at 9:30 am. (Yes that is when the actual ceremony starts.) If my grades hold up my diplomas will be mailed. (One class is giving me lots of grief!!). But I want everyone who wants to come out this Saturday and see me. I know it's early. (Not my call, I would have put it in the afternoon but the College of Arts and Sciences is in the afternoon!) But I will be receiving my BS and MS degrees in Accounting and even have found a permanent job. So be there: Saturday December 17, 2005 9:30 am Coliseum (aka Super Pit!)
  11. OU without a doubt. Their fans are stuck up snobs. Don't get me going on OU. OU sucks.
  12. Guys, I have to admit I am disappointed in a 2-9 season afer all of our recent successes. But we did go into this season carrying a big bulls eye. We can't win the conference every year. And honestly this is the best year not to go bowling. Heck it's not even in New Orleans. No offense to Lafayette but it is no New Orleans. Let's go forth and look forward to a new season next year. But first, let's enjoy some Mean Green Basketball!
  13. Hey Emmitt, I am so sorry for your loss. I applaud all of you that serve in the police and firefighter capacities (not to mention countless others) as you put your lives on the line to save others. But Emmitt, please accept my condolences.
  14. Disappointing yes. The worst no.
  15. I am really looking forward to getting a real job in a couple of months so I can afford to get a subscription to the MGR. I can't wait!!!!
  16. I believe the only returner on the O-line is Lineberry. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think the center is not the only new person on the line.
  17. Don't we have J-Mo's brother being redshirted this year?
  18. I commend everyone who lent a helping hand (and in the case of LA Tech fans who lent their voices in cheering when Tulane played in Ruston). Really remarkable!!!
  19. Had the game occured when scheduled, I am sure that the Mean Green turnout would have been better. Look at this way, it could have been worse. No one could have gone. So it wasn't all lost.
  20. I wanted to be the first to wish everyone in the Mean Green Nation.... HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!!!
  21. Brian, Why were you disappointed about the turnout?? And if I seemed pissed off in my first post in this thread, I am sorry. I have been doing research for a tax problem that I have to present on Wednesday. It isn't your fault, but pulling 80 hour weeks (between work, school and job hunting) is starting to really affecting me!!!! Sorry man if I made you upset.
  22. Just because we don't go to an out of town game that does not mean we don't support our team. I for one support the team. But I have 12 hours of graduate school, trying to graduate this semester (we'll see), I work 16 hours a week, and am trying to find a full time job. Other people are just as busy. Plus, it is Halloween weekend. Lots of people made plans for this weekend way before the LSU game got rescheduled. So please don't go off on other fans who didn't travel to LSU with you. I am glad you went. But seriously, it isn't right for some to go off on others just because we don't travel.
  23. I agree. I have personally witnessed an increase in spirit during the 5 glorious seasons I spent with the Green Brigade. I remember when we hosted Baylor in 2000 that many members of the GB shouted "Go Green Go Gold" during Fly Like an Eagle instead of shouting the "Go Green Go White" like it was written into the part. Now there are many in the GB that heckle the refs when a bad call happens (and in many cases they heckle even if the right call was made...they just want to vent frustrations). Many really do support athletics. Many people came to UNT 3 years ago that I thought would never set foot inside Fouts Field after their marching band requirement was fulfilled. Those students (and more) are still attending the games and they are wearing UNT garb!!! I too have noticed more non music majors joining. I was one of those non majors who joined the GB. And I have no regrets about doing so. Mr. Williams is an asset not just to the College of Music but to the university as a whole. I have no doubts that with Mr. Williams direction, the spirit on this campus will continue to grow. Look at what he has done since he took over the GB reigns just 2 years ago. I salute Mr. Williams and to the athletic department for finally forging a bond. Things like this make my heart sing with joy!!!!
