Can you make a case that Vick got involved in the wrong crowd for one wrong business, while PacMan has revisited the same wrong crowd over and over, despite the different troubles he finds himself in? A permi-ban on Vick by Goodwell would seem like the right thing to do, and should be in an equalized world; but it wouldn't be consistent with the punishment Goodwell has levied on others that IMO have done just as bad or worse. I really don't know Vick and wouldn't speak on his behalf, but I would think/hope he recognizes the seriousness of what he's done and wouldn't dare walk down this path again. Betting and fixing games is one thing, gaining profit based on animal cruelty is betting but seems to me a different habit? Maybe I'm alone in that thinking. And if he's been convicted of his crime and served his time as determined by a judge, why should the NFL consider acting as another judiciary system? Where does crime and punishment cross over into NFL code of conduct policy? Can his jail-time be considered his suspension served? I'm glad I'm not making the call.
