The best scenario would have been the First family of UNT football play a game of "pepper" or hell, just have Riley toss out the first ball with him and pops displaying thier play wristbands on. That would have been awesome to see the whole crew out there and given us immediate credibility. We could have had PHS umpire.

I wished I was back in school and graduating in a few more years, but unfortunately no. Its obvious 2012 has a beef as do so many others. I didn't like what I saw yesterday but one thing for sure, the staff is more experienced, the OL is better, the defense will get better, and we have a little speed this next year. What I hated was the kicking game and the punting. There are some players who will win us some games but it won't be in the kicking game.

I believe Dodge stays for the duration when its all said and done. Many on the board are fed up based on what I know but I believe it will come down to economics more than wins.

The OL and the depth at RB are the strengths this season, in my ooinion. The more you read the more you believe that this team wins 4 games, and maybe gets on a roll. You never know in the Belt. ULM and ULL seem down in talent or maybe I am overlooking these guys.

A turn in the other direction would have been death to the stadium and death to recruiting.

Army and Ohio are wins. We will do well against them. ULM and ULL should be games that are very possible to win. Other than that, we are going to have to play some damn good football.

I personally don't believe any of those guys. No one knows anything but the players themselves. And even then, some views are slanted in whatever direction or agenda a player might have. Lets talk about the current players because other than that it really doesn't make a crap.

A great team player who was leaving. I love Nathan but he was gone. Now he gets credit because he sees Riley as a kid who is gonna get his ass kicked and now he might see the field. Lets don't go overboard. This guy was as good as gone. His line is great media savvy, he sounds like Riley.

This is a gonna be a great spring. This is Dodge's make or break season. This will be the best spring in many seasons with all the new faces and combination of all the returning OL. Quoner as far as Vizza, when was the last time you threw a freaking pass in a D-1 game. Gio may never play again but that doesn't take what he's done at the HS or collegiate level away. 3 NCAA records, 3rd team freshman All-American, Sunbelt freshman of the year. I love you column, I have spoken to you several times but let it lay. That kid is long gone. Lets focus on your buddies Dodge and Dodge. Lets focus on the present. YOUR boys (HA) will win you over yet.

I won't even comment on Vito still chasing Vizza. But I will comment on the juicing. Its rampart throughout SLC and this has followed him here. Dodge will allow anthing that will make him keep his job and his ego. Its obvious who this football player or student is referring to. Look at the guy right now compared to last season. His head is huge and weight gain in not real for a kid whose body is built like that.

The point of the thread is big Rick wants us under center on short down and distance situations. Dodge has to pull out all stops this season or he is history and everyone knows that. Under center? I don't believe he will go that far. He will use TE's for Max pass protection for the obvious, he knows his QB's cannot keep getting blasted, especially Junior.

ARMY. A sure win. Ball State will be a close game with their new staff and a brand new QB.

Dr. B told us a long time ago that the timeline is shaky. Vito is just reporting the facts. 2011 is a pipe dream.

If you knew the kid and his dad, you would know that the word family used in breaking the huddle during team sessions is phony. The team has seen through this smoke and mirror program. Dodge is worried about Dodge. Period. Just ask Brett. He knows more than what people give him credit for. If Vito could just really let it fly, it would be amazing news.

There has been big time hitting the last two spring practices as witnessed by Joseph Miller blind siding our QB who bit entirely through his tongue on a full contact collision on the press box sideline. Meager got hit, Vizza got hit, all of them were LIVE in practice. Yeah, I saw it and so did the entire team. That will change now. You want to know the reason? We all know why. And do you really think Todd Dodge wants to give the job to a player who told everyone on the team he was not coming back? PLEASE! "MR. T" what's your Prediction? PAIN, no I really mean its Riley (by a large margin of error) to start at Ball State. No hitting the Qb this year is a good thing though, except if your last name is Tune or Baine.

TD and staff did well, really well. It equates to more wins definitely next season.

CB analysis is still TOAST. Until they get a D-line who can consistently put pressure on the Qb, those guys are toast.

Bad thing about Tune was he let several team members know he was gone. Now he had a change of heart because of the lack of depth and experience at the position. We need a JUCO QB bad, someone with college experience who is extremely durable.

We need some help still with two big areas, LB depth, D-line talent and depth, and another JUCO QB must be signed. Vito calls it like it is, tough to swallow but he is correct most of the time. Good thing is Dodge got a lot of schollies back from those who have left the program to fill some voids. He has to win now. He can't wait for DFW prospects to mature, he has to do it now.

Finally hopefully, someone who can stretch the field and make plays with his speed. We had no one the last several seasons who can take a quick hitch route and go the distance.

TD and staff quickly putting together what looks like a pretty impressive class of recruits at least on paper. Loading up on JUCO WR's is a smart thing, the other scholly players were a bust. No returning starters makes them a shoe in for a starting role. Getting some beef is always a good thing. Spring football can't get here soon enough.

I think Deloach is having a big impact on this year's class. Atkinson is a must. Can't afford to lose him at this juncture.
