I'm hesitant to give a long term contract extension because this might be a 1 year blip. But he definitely deserves some kind of compensation. Remember where we were she he took over from Trilli. What were we....20-87 while Vic was here? Maybe a new 3 year deal with a nice bump in salary.

Our RPI continues to climb...we may pass Niagara today if things go right for us. I'm thinking SUMG is right...we're going to Chicago against Kansas. And yeah, I know we put too much stock in the RPI, but it's a fair measuring stick for us near the bottom of the bracket. BTW - even after the loss yesterday UCLA is #1 in the RPI.

To back up that statement, CBSsportsline still has UCLA as a 1 seed. And they have updated - unlike ESPN. Not sure when the worldwide leader updates. Another Bracketology site has the Bruins as a 1 as well - they updated at 10pm CST(which was after UCLA lost too).

UCLA is a 2 or a 3 at worst at this point. I could easily see them regaining a 1 seed if acouple of schools lose.

Well, we aren't the only conference to do this - but among the Mid Major leagues it is sorta rare. I'm not exactly sure.....my guess would be the conference wanted to look BIG TIME like the ACC or something(those power leagues all have a nuetral court tournament) and it's backfired.

The tournament shoulda just jettisoned the extra at large. Granted GMU was probably the last team in in '06(and thus we'd have missed the best college bball story maybe ever), but it truly is a slap in the face to both schools who have to participate. I DO NOT WANT TO BE IN THE PLAY-IN GAME.

Yes, I'd love to play Memphis. Not that we'd probably win, but CUSA was very weak this year. They've only really been tested once in about 6 weeks. We could give'm issues if we're hitting 3's and crashing the boards like we were the other night(not to mention single digits in turnovers).

Not at all. IIRC the RPI is 50% who you beat, 25% who the schools you played beat, and 25% who those schools beat. It's pretty convuluted, but basically if teams you played win, it helps you.

They look at strength of conferences, quality wins, the last 10 games, RPI, etc... We just don't know how much stock they put in each and every one so the RPI tends to get so much attention.

Collegerpi.com has as a 16 playing UCLA. I'm just gonna root for 1 seeds in the Southland, Big West, etc to lose - then we'll be ok.
