  1. Don't forget a lack of news coverage due to the away games starting 2 hours later.
  2. I think the gutsy call was a good one. The play call? Who knows? Think about it we had the ball at their 40 yd line right? That's no-man's land where you can't really kick a field goal, but you also shouldn't punt. We only needed a yard and that should be do-able. But, it wasn't so we move on. I've got full trust in this coaching staff to take us where we need to go. It appears there will be growing pains along the way though...
  3. He must have seen the game last night and is excited about being a 1st year starter.
  4. I expect to see the guys taking sledge hammers to their dinky little chairs while roaring like lions. Maybe if the intensity picked up a little more, they would fight each other. Or, maybe if they brought some cards, get a good Spades tournament going... I dunno, either way is cool.
  5. I was expecting a loss (predicted 31-24 loss). I understand the growing pains and I'm fully aware of FIU's status in our conference. I like to wear the green-tinted glasses as much as anyone else on here. You may have inferred a little too much from my previous post. What I mean is: These same positives (racking up all kinds of yards between the 20's) were used in 2007-2010, and they were rejected back then... just as they should be rejected now. Remember many people on here said: "I don't want moral victories...". The bottom line is that the Mean Green was punched in the mouth in the 1st quarter and could not recover.
  6. My one request for next week is to suit up Cam Feldt in a Y'Barbo jersey and see if we can get away with it. If it works, oh boy! Lance goes for 200 yds! If we get busted, hey, what's the worst that could happen?
  7. Uh, get ready. If you think FIU moved the ball with ease against us, you're in for a shock.
  8. BINGO. This is a big part of the problem.
  9. Zach Orr - 8-solo. 4-assisted. Including a nice play where he ran Hilton down from behind on the end-around and tackled him at the 1 yard line rather than letting him prance on in.
  10. Hah! NT wins this game by at least 100... Unless we're playing hockey. Then we lose by 50. Just sit big Tevin Cantly in Goal and see if they can hit it around him. I bet Dunbar would net at least 1 goal. He's just that good.
  11. oh yeah. I could use a blizzard at Apogee for sure!
  12. OK. Now we agree. I don't think anyone can argue that the Dodge era was a success or made any inroads in conference realignment. Thanks for the painful memories though. Also, your clarification at the bottom of this post is what I was looking for. The Dodge years are not the reason why UNT is not in the Big 12 discussion. Part of it? Sure. The sole reason? Not even close.
  13. I'll be at Rudy's in Denton taking in some bbq, cold shiner, and AC with the Mean Green...at least for the first half. We may head to the stadium at halftime.
  14. Shirley, I can interest you in some UTSA season tickets? They're really the hot item right now.
  15. No. Surely you're not serious?
  16. True. There are only so many "UNT's New Stadium..." and "UNT's New Coach..." stories that the wayward sports fan would want to read about. Maybe they can sneak in a Lance Dunbar story every once in a while. Start winning, and then the team becomes interesting to that same fan. Keep winning and maybe certain star players will become interesting as well. Beat Alabama and UNT will be on the front page with a huge headline. It's all about winning. The right attitude, coach, & stadium is in place. Now win.
  17. Meaning he's the 68th best player in Texas. Compared to last years rankings of: #7 Jordan Williams #24 Chris Jones #32 Forrest Robinson I think Pye is rated pretty low as well. JJ must really see something in these guys to go after them so early.
