  1. Saw this on YouTube. SMU's breakdown of the 2023 AAC Schedule.
  2. What are you guys hearing, as pertaining to an announcement? By the way, the 2023 AAC football schedule comes out this morning.
  3. UNT fans were thrilled to get into the AAC, and according to AAC sources, SMU's president pushed hard for UNT to get membership. So we have SMU to thank for helping us get in, but, I have to wonder, why some schools like Charolette, UAB and FAU were accepted.
  4. Beating SMU when they are a P5, would be a much bigger feather in our cap. It would be great for a "stop down rivalry" but I don't think anyone see's that happening. I just looked up the game history with the Mustangs and they have a 35-6 record against us. We would have to go on 8 game winning streak, just to make it interesting.
  5. It seems like our fans don't want you guy's to go, but, looking at SMU's recruiting ranking, including the #4 portal class in the country and the #1 non P5 class by a mile, more rational UNT fans should want SMU gone from the AAC, we would have a better chance of winning our division. If we had a chance to be in a P5, we would jump in a heart beat.
  6. Oh really, can you provide the receipts to back up your claims?
  7. Several of those schools mentioned are real head scratchers, almost to the point of embarrassing, so why were they invited to the AAC?
  8. Ridiculous, we would be ecstatic beyond comprehension, if we thought UNT had even a slender chance, of moving to the PAC12 or any P5.
  9. Interesting dynamic, several have reported that the Big12 is now in contact with SMU. Their fear of PAC teams that already recruit Texas, will naturally explode.
  10. I am a regular visitor on other boards like TCU, Tech etc... the 2 or 3 SMU posters that come over here are absolutely charming, compared to what I read on those other boards. lol By the way, I'm sure our moderators love the Pony visitors, look at the traffic it creates, by just mentioning the name SMU. The numbers don't lie. I also hope we keep playing them in non conference games once their gone.
  11. Surely you have to know UNT got the call, because the AAC commish knew that SMU was probably gone. We should be happy, that UNT will be the only team near the Dallas metroplex in the in the AAC.
  12. Reading ON3 and 247, said SMU brought the Iowa quarterback in as a 3rd string emergency guy, behind Preston Stone and the freshman from South Oak Cliff. Speaking of SOC, The Ponies got a commit last night from a 4 star athlete out of SOC, offers from a$m, UT, Georgia etc... he's their 2nd 4 star for the 24 class. They also got a bigtime transfer center from Miami yesterday, 39 starts in the ACC, with offers from Mizzu, LSU and some others I can't remember. Rhett learned well from his time with Sonny. It will be interesting to see what TCU does, when the May portal window opens.
  13. Not being sarcastic, but SMU's defense was terrible last year. Was that a recruiting failure by Sonny Dykes and the previous staff?
  14. According to Chris Vannini in The Athletic, his top choice is SMURhett Lashlee not only has the top G5 transfer class, it’s one of the best classes in the country, period. With 17 additions (and potentially more to come), the Mustangs have the No. 6 transfer class in 247Sports’ rankings. That class includes two four-star prospects in Texas A&M running back LJ Johnson (a top-50 player in the Class of 2021) and Texas A&M offensive tackle PJ Williams (a top-100 player in the Class of 2022). Other highlights include five players from Miami (Fla.), where Lashlee previously coached, and 13 total players from Power 5 teams. Lashlee was with Sonny Dykes when SMU was at the forefront of transfer portal recruiting. That has continued under Lashlee’s leadership. 49 of the top 50 classes in the Portal Rankings are Power 5 schools. The lone exception is SMU, ranked #6.
  15. Looks like the UNT NIL is starting to shell out some pretty big bux for players?
  16. Looking at the portal position rankings, Johnson and Knighton are the #2 and #5 running backs in the country, so I can see why Siggers is leaving. Did that fullback Tyler Levine graduate?
  17. Baylor has quickly got into gear with their NIL program, they secured UNT transfer Jake Roberts yesterday. Word from the Baylor insiders, Jake was about to commit to SMU, until they put a bigger offer in front of him.
  18. Jake also added an offer from Prime Time at Colorado. Don't kid yourself, all of these programs persuing Jake have strong NIL programs.
  19. Texas Tech, TCU and Baylor, will continue to blackball SMU from getting into the Big12. If you keep up with recruiting, SMU competes with those teams quite often for players, no way...will those schools allow SMU to be on a level playing field with them.
  20. Sonny was really an innovator of this when at SMU. But remember, Rhett Lashley was a big recruiter for Sonny, when he was his offensive coordinator. Take a look at what the Mustangs are doing in the portal right now, their class is in the top 10 Nationally, in all of the recruiting services. No matter how the Championship game turns out Monday, expect TCU to knock it out of the park in the portal.
  21. I saw that he's already visited Tennessee, Arkansas, SMU yesterday and visiting Baylor today, but being from Norman, I would think he'll be a Sooner.
  22. How many "posters" are we talking about, 2 maybe 3 at most?
  23. He announced before their season final, that he was not coming back and going to give the NFL a try. He must've got some poor feedback from the scouts. Not to mention ESPN writers say, that he is getting a big NIL deal with the Badgers. I think Mustang fans, were ready for the Preston Stone era to begin last season anyway. I would be more concerned with Stone than Tanner.
