  1. Negative. I don't want to give any team a chance to learn from their mistakes in the same season.
  2. ... I would rather face FAU in the CG. FAU just doesn't appear to have an enough offense. A few caught passes and it's UNT with the inside track to hosting right now.
  3. I wish all G5s would understand where they stand and work together like this. I think the days of needing multiple paydays are ending for most programs. I like the idea of G5 conference challenges like they do in basketball.
  4. UAB was given a 61% chance of beating us.
  5. I'll have to ask around, but I don't get the feeling UTSA is doing anything really special other than maybe talking up some kids that playing time is to be had and we are winning football games. Now, that isn't a bad thing, if anyone thinks I'm saying that it is. I just think it is a little overblown or pumped up, if you will, to say one of the best. Lemonade out of lemons is far more appropriate. CJT is very likeable. The operations guys is super likeable. That helps a lot. Plain and simple, winning cures all *IF* an athletics department and fundraising can strike while the iron is hot. Boise St never really did, look at them now. Their facilities are "meh" for an OG BCS busting program. 3 Fiesta Bowls in 8 seasons. 25Kish students every year. Asking for financial ssupport is super duper important AND reaching out to those who do dig as deep as they can saying "thanks" once a quarter is icing on the cake.
  6. They are low key flying under the radar. They've beaten UAB two years in a row. The FlaAt loss was close. They were close against Houston. USC stomped them 60 something to whatever. Rice ends with UTEP, WKU, UTSA, and UNT in that order. It feels like they might play spoiler, but could work their way into the CUSA CG.
  7. With how everything has shaped up, 2-2 might be good enough for UTSA. 3-1 guarantees with an appearance and beating Rice in that stretch guarantees hosting.
  8. That was going to be UTSA's play no matter what. 6'3" with a great vertical against a 5'10" DB. A timeout just gives UTSA 3 maybe 4 plays because there was 23 seconds on the snap.
  9. Thank you for sharing this. I'm too far from the student section to see it. I always assume it is UTSA "birds up", but not the middle bird. Some of our fans boo the other teams as they enter and leave the stadium. Why would anyone boo college kids, without provocation, is beyond me. I simply ignore the other team.
  10. I was sitting in the stadium, so I completely agree. People who were listening to the broadcast would share, "North texas only has xx yards" and none of us believed it. Responses were "what? really?!?!?" or along those lines. It was one of those games where both defenses really took away the best offensive stat of each team. I know UNT was 50/50 coming into the game, but that pass game comes off of the run first approach. UTSA is clearly pass first.
  11. It was assistants. UTSA school president had to get in between. Bad look for both staffs, but thankfully it was "behind closed doors" sort of.
  12. Apparently, it was about the 4th down call. This is why I didn't talk to any UNT fans after the game. It was an emotional game and any words can trigger emotions or be taken out of context. Simply put, UNT's OC out OC'ed the shit out of UTSA's OC and almost came away with a win. From my eyes, it was an absolutely brilliant game plan that was only brought down by dropped passes. Defensively, both teams picked their poison, but UTSA's OC didn't see it until the 4th quarter. I think he lucked into 200 yards of rushing as a team, to be honest.
  13. I gotta admit that you guys throwing shade at his prediction has me dying over here.
  14. LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Michigan, OSU all just checked into the check and nodded with approval of this statement. It looks like others are waiting in queue to join. 🙂
  15. THIS!!!!!!! LITERALLY ALL OF THIS! Just far enough to make it a "trip", but oh so close enough for "familiarity breeds contempt" CUSA's issue was not following the SEC template. People can talk smack about cupcake week in the SEC, but no one and I mean no one talks smack about those known rivalries on the calendar at the same bat time and on the same bat channel the following week. Giving people the same time of year to look forward to every year is crucial in getting sideline fans into stadiums for "important games".
  16. UTSA is on left tackle #6 who is a converted defensive lineman. UTSA might have finally found RB #1. The best WR corps in G5 HAS to have a huge game. UTSA is riddled with injuries and is a tired football team, right now. Weather clearly won't be any kind of influence. UTSA's DL and overall front 6-7 have to be able to contain UNT's very good rushing attack. This most likely won't be the last game that UNT and UTSA face each other in the 2022 season.
  17. The NCAA has been emasculated and they have only themselves to blame.
  18. I'd much rather go to the Bahamas Bowl, if going out of the continental 48.
  19. I was in book advertising purgatory. Anyway, Neal Brown can't #17. He has to be Top 5. There is no sign growth at WVU. His saving grace is that WVU doesn't have the money to outbid anyone, so maybe that's why he is so low on the list?
  20. I wonder how much influence CUSA had in this for the extra revenue? What is it? 500K that the schools get each year from TV?
  21. I've said many times, "UTSA is fighting an uphill battle against generationaly Aggies and Longhorns that only 3 decades of Football can only begin to solve." There's been a decent shift, but a loong way to go. If NIL doesn't come around we stand a chance, but it's putting us further behind. Good lord, SMU and Tech are completely outclassing us and they both basically suck in the landscape of college football considering their histories. People poke fun at us not having a stadium on campus, but it is a god send. It's our one leverage point.
  22. You are NOT wrong. It's discouraging. We are sitting on a silver mine that just need some effort, any effort, in mining.
