  1. For what it’s worth, there were 26 RBs drafted last year.
  2. I do wish our recruiting was better. I wish we could pull in a class of all 3* guys. But, I realize that type of thing doesn’t happen over night. It takes time. I’m seeing progress in recruiting, so I’ll give the staff a pass. As long as the improvement continues I’ll be happy. This isn’t a class that smacks a 5, but this a class that can beat a lot of G5. Also, guess I should have taken a screenshot of each of these guys before they committed to us. If you don’t believe me, ask @BTG_Fan1
  3. To the best of my memory, yes. Even if you give each of those classes an extra 2 3* guys, this class is still better than the last 2.
  4. For the record, we currently have 23 players committed. 1 of those won’t be here for 2 years, and another is a blue shirt. So really that number is 21. Currently, we have 12 players who either are right now, or at one point were rated as 3* players (over half of our players lost a couple points when they committed to us). 12/21 is a pretty good percent (57%). Last year 6/20 were 3* (30%), and the year before that was 4/20 3* (20%), I won’t count Johnson who LITERALLY had no eligibility left or Hoston who didn’t qualify.
  5. Sure. We have 22 recruits that have a combined 45 FBS offers. Power 5: 8 Big 10: 4 Illinois: 2 Indiana: 1 Purdue: 1 PAC-12: 2 Utah: 1 Arizona: 1 SEC: 1 Arkansas: 1 Big-12: 1 K-State: 1 Group of 5: 37 Sunbelt: 15 ULL: 3 Texas State: 3 Liberty: 3 ULM: 2 New Mexico State: 1 Arkansas State: 1 South Alabama: 1 Troy: 1 AAC: 7 Navy: 2 Tulane: 1 Tulsa: 1 Memphis: 1 SMU: 1 Houston: 1 C-USA: 6 UTSA: 2 LA Tech: 2 Rice: 1 Southern Miss: 1 MAC: 6 Bowling Green: 2 Akron: 1 Kent State: 1 Ohio: 1 Toledo: 1 MWC: 3 New Mexico: 2 Colorado State: 1
  6. I’ve seen a lot of talk on the board about how our coaches can’t recruit against other staffs for players, so I decided to do a little number crunching about where players we offer are going. Currently, 100 players we have offered have committed somewhere other than our school. Power 5 Schools: 61 recruits Big-12: 33 recruits. Oklahoma State: 7 Oklahoma: 5 Baylor: 5 Texas Tech: 5 TCU: 4 Texas: 3 K-State: 3 Iowa State: 1 PAC-12: 9 Arizona State: 2 Utah: 2 Colorado: 1 UCLA: 1 Oregon: 1 Stanford: 1 Arizona: 1 SEC: 7 Mizzou: 4 LSU: 2 TAMU: 1 ACC: 5 Duke: 1 Pitt: 1 NC State: 1 Syracuse: 1 Boston College: 1 Big 10: 6 Purdue: 2 Wisconsin: 1 Minnesota: 1 Nortgwestern: 1 Michigan: 1 Independent: 1 BYU: 1 Group of 5: 39 AAC: 15 Tulsa: 6 Houston: 3 SMU: 2 Tulane: 2 Memphis: 1 UCF: 1 C-USA: 13 LA Tech: 5 Rice: 2 UTSA: 2 MTSU: 2 Southern Miss: 1 UTEP: 1 MWC: 5 Colorado State: 2 San Diego State: 1 Boise State: 1 Nevada: 1 Sunbelt: 3 ULL: 1 ULM: 1 Texas State: 1 MAC: 2 Toledo: 1 Bowling Green: 1 Independent: 1 Army: 1 61% of the players we offer go to P5 schools. An additional 16% go to a conference that is seen as a better conference than our’s (AAC). Adding these together, that means just over 3/4 (77%) go to a school that is perceived as a better conference.
  7. https://247sports.com/player/james-bagnell-85882 Nice
  8. Some C-USA Examples: LA Tech currently has 17 OL Southern Miss currently has 15 OL FAU currently has 18 OL
  9. You should put in an application. An alum that is also a young relatable coach seems like the direction we should go.
  10. Totally possible he meant the degree. If so though, why say 10 years and not 40 years? 10 years seems much more likely to be NFL than a non-football professional career.
  11. I like Craig & Zach, but neither was drafted. And the chance of an UFA making a NFL roster is fairly low.
  12. We recently had a player commit and then decommit 2 days later. If you read into this tweet he is basically saying going to UNT doesn’t give him a chance to make it to the NFL. The last time we had a player drafted was 2003 (2004?) that’s 15 YEARS ago. I love UNT, but can you really blame a guy for not coming here when we can’t get anybody drafted? We don’t have much of a chance of getting someone drafted this year. Jeff would have had a chance if he hadn’t been injured pretty much every year. Kishawn McClain saw a huge drop off in production this year. Trevor Moore is consistent, but it’s rare for kickers to get drafted (could be a good UFA). We don’t really have anyone next year with a good draft stock. Our best chance of getting someone drafted is if Mason Fine can put up 4500-5500 yards with at least a 2.5:1 TD:INT ratio for the next 2 seasons. I love this school, but we can’t be surprised when we lose kids when we can’t get anyone drafted.
  13. Looks like Steve Bannon is spilling the beans on what he saw while in the White House. Trump seems quite furious. This should be entertaining.
  14. Sorry to hear about your mother @SilverEagle. Alzheimer’s is such a complicated disease because there is no one known cause, but rather a list of associated deficiencies. The prime suspect is the loss of cholinergic synapses to the hippocampus. I have hope that we’ll make some progress on curing it in the next 25 years.
  15. Next season we open up against SMU @ home on 9/1/18. We all knew Courtland Sutton would be gone to the draft after we played them this season. The next development happened a couple weeks ago when Chad Morris left SMU to be the HC @ Arkansas. A lot of the SMU players wanted interim HC Traylor to be the new HC. Administration went against that and chose to hire TCU analyst and former Cal HC Sonny Dykes. In their bowl game, they were absolutely slaughtered by LA Tech. Then yesterday, @Brett Vito posted about SMU’s #2 WR Trey Quinn declaring for the draft. So next year SMU will have a different HC & be without their top 2 receivers from this season who did almost all of the work. I like our odds with a junior Mason Fine.
  16. We were 8-22 last year. We’re now 8-6. That seems like a pretty nice improvement so far.
  17. He’s 6’8, 280. Imagine 6’9 333 Murray on the other end. Our OL would be massive.
  18. Well Morgantown is 18 hours away and Salt LaKe City is 19 hours away so what did they expect?
