  1. Boo. So the Blazers can win it again? I'd like to see Denton host the tourney, as like a welcoming present from CUSA. But 2016-17 will be Year 4, I think the Mean Green will have already established themselves by then.
  2. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we have a kicker who can come in and easily make a 45-yard field goal or longer. A lot of collegiate teams can't say they have a reliable kicker like that. But this year, I want our quarterback to be our best player.
  3. Which team? Five games is less than a sixth of a season. I wouldn't consider that exciting stretch to be another Benford team. Benford has had one team since he took over: an underperforming one. I hope we get a NEW team this season. I won't have to pay for tickets for another three more years but I still don't want to see a bad team for free either!
  4. Conference USA Freshman of the Year Rickey Brice puts up 20 and 10 a game and leads UNT all the way to the Sweet 16!!!
  5. Art Briles said himself he's not going to schedule any powerhouses in nonconference, so maybe we'll get lucky. And although I like my hometown Bears, I need them to show me something in the postseason before I believe they're for real. The best about Baylor/UNT would be I could attend no matter the location, but storming the field/court is on my college bucket list.
  6. I will generally root for any Texas team in the long run but I despise A&M. My big two favorite teams are Baylor (because I'm from the Waco area) and Texas. I also like Houston for some reason, I was a Case Keenum fan. I support UNC basketball, too. Other than that, I do secretly support teams that I have coached on NCAA Basketball 2010 before. That list includes: Towson, Hawaii, Rutgers among others.
  7. I am extremely pumped for this game. Does anyone have some advice on the best way for a UNT student to get tickets for the game? The ticket-buying process on the UNT website is god-awful.
  8. I would, too. And I would take any money I had to make sure I was at that bowl game.

  10. I will remain optimistic that we can win 6 games and be bowl eligible. I said it before that I think we could start the season 4-1. Of course, that would actually require us to win a game outside of Denton for the first time since 2013, but SMU should give us a great start. Then although we lost to UTSA and UTEP last year, we have them both on home turf this year. A 16-7 home record is no fluke, I think we can take those games. It'd also be nice if we found a way to not get swept in that three-game road trip at the end of the season.

  12. They were blown out by us... us! Us who were still be led by Mr. Josh Greer! No wonder they feel so bad.
  13. I'll be a sophomore this year. Before my freshman year, I learned about UNT's rivalry with SMU although the all-time record is still lopsided in favor of the Ponies. Watching the Mean Green smack 'em a new one last year was great. Plus, I second the notion of the UTSA rivalry. I just wish we could beat them at something already. I'd also like to start something with Rice. I remember in 2013 when we beat the division-leading Owls at Apogee on Halloween and that eight-down stand within the 10-yard line, which I think was a defining moment of the Mean Green's season. I wish we were able to get Baylor, Texas, A&M, Tech, or TCU every year. And the first team we can manage to beat can be our P5 rival.
  14. I would love to see a 1-and-1 with A&M, but would be buying tickets if we were just playing in College Station anyways. What I'm afraid of if a 1-and-1 happens is A&M taking over Apogee, and because UNT isn't always a first-choice school, I bet there's a large group of UNT students that actually support the Aggies more than the Mean Green.
  15. The second-highest jump in attendance in 2014 was for a team that folded at the end of the year...
  16. Yep, let's make sure our homecoming game is against the one sure victory.
  17. TJ announced on his Instagram last month that he was going pro.
  18. Even without head coaching experience, I think Mitchell has an advantage when it comes to public opinion. I think people will believe in her/expect more from a former Mean Green Eagle, and possibly be more sympathetic if we're still a 10 win team in two years.
  19. A win over a P5.. how marvelous.. too bad we can't rush the field in Iowa City, though.
  20. In my other bracket, I had Wisconsin beating Michigan State in the Final. Let's see how this works out!
  21. I like seeing all three Texas C-USA opponents play in our house which should hopefully help attendance.
  22. Daxter Miles, Jr. from WVU says his team will beat 'em to it, saying the Wildcats "don't play hard". http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/tournament/2015/story/_/id/12557302/west-virginia-mountaineers-feeling-confident-going-ncaa-tournament-game-kentucky-wildcats
  23. Will it ever change? All the Texas teams at home one year, then all of them on the road? Is this what we're stuck with as long as we're in C-USA?
  24. What!? We can't rush the field? *transfers to SMU, where any win will result in us rushing the field*
