  1. If you dont go from 1-11 to 11-1 in one season you're a failure. Don't you know that? I seriously think we could win 3-4 games this season. If Littrell and co. do better than that I'll be happily surprised
  2. http://athlonsports.com/college-football/top-25/north-texas-mean-green-2016-preview-and-prediction Looks like Athlon thinks we're the worst of the worst.
  3. Right? It's getting a bit tired "Shanbour has talent and should have a solid shot at starting" "hur hur but he's small, like Rudy. Why don't you stop worshiping him and accept reality" Behind a bad O-line, which barring massive improvements in the fall, is what we will have this year, give me a QB who can move and make quicker decisions. Not a big guy with a big arm that can barely move
  4. With this offensive line I won't be surprised to see Shanbour on the field at some point. Still think we should use him in red zone packages similar to the way OK State used Rudolph/Walsh last year
  5. As the de facto successor to Larry Brown with the recent run they've had? That's a hell of a stretch
  6. I'd be pretty pissed too if my dad made me wear sweater vests and eat Jimmy John's all the time
  7. Since you're a diehard fan of ULM I have a question for you... How good of a coach is Troy Reffett? Everything I've seen shows him to be, but you have undoubtedly seen his defenses first hand. What should we expect?
  8. I'm sure friends of RV have similar things to say about him. Maybe Wickstrom is the answer. Maybe not. Hopefully Smatresk picks the right man
  9. Every time I go to an event and see Nitardy I just want to punch him in the face. Not that I would threaten anyone. He just has a very punchable face
  10. but John Nitardy has done so well. Why not just keep him around? /s
  11. Scrapping the Cowboys/UNT deal and signing a lifetime partnership with Jimmy John's
  12. 2017 Stanton ISD Athletic Director Rick Villarreal has scheduled both Southlake Carroll and Austin Westlake for next season for the Buffaloes. Both games will be away games. When asked about the bizarre decision to schedule these Texas high school powerhouses in the upcoming season, Villarreal replied "I never got to see Todd Dodge have a winning program at UNT, might as well see what that's like while I can"
  13. This entire AD staff outside of Reggie Johnson reeks of complacency and underachievement. I hope history doesn't repeat itself with Smatresk. We need new blood to come in and clean house
  14. What about this guy? The AD for La Tech who hired both Dykes and Skip Holtz https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bruce_Van_De_Velde http://www.uwbadgers.com/news/2013/9/3/Van_De_Velde_added_to_UW_Athletics_senior_staff.aspx
  15. We didn't. Mainly because the marketing and branding efforts of the AD were pitiful. Couple that with a geriatric old fart who played boring football and I'm surprised we got what we did. The University's marketing efforts, specifically in athletics, have been God awful for quite some time and RV did nothing to fix that. In today's college football marketplace branding and differentiation is everything and we have neither.
  16. LOOKS LIKE THE HATTIESBURG HUSTLER HUSTLED HIMSELF OUT OF A JOB
  17. But in regards to the horrendous crimes Baylor has been covering up, how will we ever know our athletic department sucks? Isn't that the sole reason why anyone gets on GMG anymore? To read about the ineptitudes of our AD? Especially when they contribute so much to the topic at hand
  18. Yeah the only position McCarney had a height requirement for was QB. For him 6'+ meant All-Pro, regardless of ability. Although ironically enough the best QB he ever coached(Seneca Wallace) was 5'11"
