  1. I seriously hope Morris/Shanbour take the reigns and work with the backs/receivers as much as possible over the summer. Timing and ball placement are easily the two most important aspects of this passing attack and we could use all the help we can get in those regards
  2. In your opinion, as someone who has seen multiple practices/spring game is the gap between Shanbour and Morris a lot smaller than some would lead us to believe? Or is Morris going to be the savior of UNT football a la HOD Bowl Champion MVP Stud Derek "Jesus" Thompson?
  3. I think both Goree and Rutherford will explode in this offense. I still have my doubts about who's throwing the ball, but the talent is there on the outside. Hope we can utilize it properly
  4. Maybe Littrell specifically told the offense to limit the number of runs on Saturday to focus on the pass game. That's my hope at least. Or maybe I'm just blinded by my skepticism to the actual run/pass ratio on Saturday and going forward
  5. I understand the need for pass catchers for this offense but we literally went from the Power I, run the ball 40 times a game, offense, to the "we will never run the ball ever again because swing passes are runs" offense. Good lord
  6. I follow Underdog Dynasty on twitter and occasionally check the site for content. One thing I have consistently noticed is every school has a solid 3-4 articles written about them over the past couple months. UNT has had one article in the last two months and it was a fairly short article about DaMarcus Smith's departure. No spring game thoughts, no "6 players to watch going forward". It's frustrating seeing a platform where we can post quality content and see NutsaCK post 3 articles a week while our last post was March 11th. Do we have anyone that has the experience/time that might be able to contribute?
  7. I wouldn't be surprised. Give him the reigns, let him run around, we have another year of him to groom Fine who has the same stature/abilities. It would allow the line to adjust for a shorter QB that can run for the next few years. I'm just not convinced Morris is the guy, especially after all of the positive reviews of Shanbour over the last couple years and after the spring game. He seems to make quicker/more decisive reads than Morris anyways, as noted by some saying he is the smartest QB in the room.
  8. I think the AD/Vito/Media are pushing the Alec Morris narrative so heavily because they so desperately want him to be the guy. Even Hank said several times in the spring broadcast that he is better, and was better last week etc etc etc. I'm glad when they interviewed Littrell after the game he spoke highly of Shanbour. I think Morris was crowned a little too early in his tenure here and has a big head. Like I mentioned before, Shanbour ran the table and I hope it heats up competition for Morris to perform better, because he was underwhelming to say the least on Saturday
  9. really liked what I saw from the defense. Overload pressures, pressures from multiple positions. Man coverage. It was a lot of fun watching those guys pin their ears back and get after the QB. O-line is a worry, but I have faith in Littrell and staff. I hope we mix in some pistol looks to get the run game and Wilson more involved. Ivery will be a key weapon that we need back as well. The slot position will be the key in the success of the passing game and I like what I saw from 87. Hopefully Dillman gets more looks. If we have consistency between the hashes, the outside will open up more. Shanbour was, in my opinion, much better than Morris. He found an open read and ripped it, also showing good awareness to pull the ball and take off as needed. Morris has about a DT level arm from what I can tell. An upgrade from McNuggets no doubt, but hardly a world beater. If we played smu next week I would give Shanbour the nod. Hopefully this lights a fire under Morris' ass to get better
  10. Also holds offers from Arkansas State, Grambling State, and NutsaCK http://247sports.com/Player/Cam-Roane-81485 http://www.hudl.com/athlete/2946147/cam-roane
  11. Disguising coverages and multiple defensive fronts? You mean rushing 4 and playing a cover 2 every play isn't effective? Who knew
  12. 3000 friendly people and a few old soreheads
  13. I seriously think he could be our Jakeem Grant
  14. They've seemed to step up their video production game this year. A lot more access to players/coaches/practices than previously(at least in my opinion)
  15. Can we have a safe space for when I feel oppressed by UNT90?
  16. Or McCarney would set up four verts and run a draw play, because it's Dan McCarney. Seriously so pumped for this guy. I think we knocked it out of the park with this hire and I'm hoping the next few seasons will show this. It's interesting those who compare Littrell to Dodge. Dodge's spread was more of a death by a thousand cuts attack. This air raid is going to push the ball downfield and often. It will be fun to watch
  17. But Harry, did you know that Rick Villarreal is a horrible athletic director?
  18. As long as Nickelback is played extensively throughout the games I'm good
  19. This fight is like two midgets arguing who's shorter
  20. Gonna be there with my Aggie friend. Show him what a real spring game looks like
  21. First Mac Speech - "When you're in Florida, the Iowa is a national championship ring and we will win running the ball and playing good defense." *Loud applause and cheering from the crowd* Second Mac Speech - "In the Florida, the Iowa was running the ball and playing good defense with a national championship" *Applause is significantly more quiet* Last Mac Speech -"Portland St. obviously had more Iowa than our Florida could muster. They the ran ball well and Iowa'd when we Florida'd and when that happens national championship rings are scarce" *Crickets*
  22. 1. I think we will be significantly better. More aggressive play styles will result in more opportunities and a coaching staff that relates better to the players and puts them into positions to succeed. 2. Offense will be better by leaps and bounds. It won't even be close. I think Morris will be one of the top QB's(if healthy) in the conference. Couple that with Wilson and Ivery I think out offense will be potent 3. Defense will be better based on principle alone. Ekeler and Reffett will have an aggressive defense. They will attack the ball, not sit back and hope to make a tackle. I suspect we'll see more blitzes and man coverage(There's a reason they moved Buyers to WR, he's a zone corner).
  23. This is where this staff will succeed over the previous staff. They're young. They have energy. They're teaching by example, not just screaming at the players. They're not a bunch of geriatric old farts trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. Our players will be in better positions to succeed on every play
