  1. RV, is that you? You can't blame the fans, current or old, of the apathy that surrounds the program. This falls on the AD, primarily the previous Prez/AD as well as the AD/Prez that dropped us down to 1AA. A metric shit ton of blame falls directly on those 4 sets of shoulders.
  2. Oh yes, indeed. But Tech football over their history, short and long term, have been the epitome of inconsistent. I know I'm throwing rocks from a glass house, but I just wanted to reinforce their mediocrity.
  3. Oh he can crack 4.6 without doubt. But this is a pressurized situation and he'll be jittery/nervous so he won't have as much pep in his step. But at best he is still a high 4.5 guy. He never really displayed absolute breakaway speed during games. He was always needing to weave in and out or angle outrun people to the pylon. In other words, 4.4/low 4.5 corners were often times gaining ground on him in the open field
  4. Not sure what you're trying to infer here... Texas Tech has ended the season ranked in the top 25 seven times in the last 30 years. Since the beginning of Tech football (1925) they have finished the season ranked 12 times total. They are currently at about being ranked 1 time out of every 10 years. If 10% is consistency, then I will step aside and agree.
  5. I agree with what you're saying. But in every metric and every power poll, there is an entire conference that separates us and the Belt. To add, the conference as a whole did very well in recruiting only being behind AAC. I think the gap is starting to widen, in football that is. In basketball, an argument could be made that we are equals and given the year one conference may be better than the other.
  6. "wound up in Denton...(in spite of his HS success)." Ceiling is practice squad. Draft projection is free agent. The utter disrespect to player and University is more than apparent.
  7. I say over. Probably low 4.6 range...4.62-ish. I hope he runs a 4.3. Give it hell.
  8. Yeah, they were a joke all last season. I was laughing over and over watching our secondary, many of times, get burnt in very said routes. What was the stat? 28 plays of 40 yards or more. Whew.
  9. No, probably not. Proximity plays a big role in travel. Shreveport is ideal. NOLA and ABQ are not.
  10. Name opponent in comparison to who? Florida State? I think there is no need to debunk that and I don't really care who Troy beat. Also, I would've more than likely went to the bowl game even if it were vs Troy had it been in Shreveport. The opponent played a role, but the distance of driving in such a short notice was also pretty relevant.
  11. There are too many holes to poke in this and I'm on a phone. I'll save my thumb muscle for another debate.
  12. But the decision IS Liberty. BECAUSE THAT'S WHO IS ON THE DAMN SCHEDULE. And do we know, without a single doubt, that Liberty was (AT THE TIME OF SCHEDULING) the ONLY available opponent to fill that slot? AND, to add, even IF it was why tf was it a necessity to go home and home with a CURRENT FCS program. We've went over this and you'll apparently defend this BS forever and always, but there is no denying it was a bad decision. If Liberty was the only viable option (which I don't believe), then you keep Army on the books until something worthwhile comes available. And you never go home and home in this scenario. The chips were stacked in our favor and we go home and home with a FCS East coast program that was THIRSTY for opponents to qualify as an FBS program. And there we went, bending over and grabbing our ankles. And this thread is about scheduling. So it's far from a hijack.
  13. I know this is very small minded thinking, but if English isn't ready (and maybe even if he is) we need to move a thick bodied and aggressive minded offensive linemen to the DL to just get in there and absorb blockers. We need Young out on the edge this year and I don't think we can afford to push him back inside. A 6'2"+ 300lb+ guy that has at least a decent burst is really all that is needed. Think Demonte Hood from the 2016 season.
  14. Not being competitive is the way to bring the asshole me out. What pos road trip and nauseating way to end the year. 20 wins next year is the floor IMO. Get it done.
  15. So you're intrigued by this 1 and 1? Just checking.
  16. I think it's a trucking company. I can't be sure though.
  17. When the awful series is over. It wss piss poor. Let's not boost it or make excuses for it. It is what it is.
  18. Homer article if there ever was one. I've been to many UNT games since Apogee opened, and they do not significantly inflate attendance numbers if at all. Why don't ODU worry about building their football team back up and get a real stadium. 25 high school stadiums in the state of Texas puts their thing they call a stadium to shame.
  19. I like Garner and his enthusiasm and team mentality, but he is a step too slow and could be sitting on the sideline in a quick minute if he let's someone get in there and out play him.
  20. Faison has to be here for the 2018 season. He is a shoe-in starter that we desperately need in this position group.
