  1. Which would make a little better sense, but was not the case. The naysayers need to just come full circle and agree this was a piss poor decision. I'm getting tired of bitching about this particular topic, but don't worry, not in general.
  2. For some, probably so. For me personally, not at all. I just don't want to see the D1 FBS program that I follow closely and that is trying to garner attention and respect agree to travel thousands of miles to a FCS transitional team. It's not a good look. In my mind, a good analogy would be for Texas A&M or UT to agree to a 1 on 1 with us. There would be ESPN/media and fan outrage.
  3. We could* have a 10-2 offense with a probable 4-8 defense. There is no telling how this season progresses. If we get good situational defense from our defensive guys, we could string together a good run in the season and end with a good record. If we get consistent 3-9/4-8 play from our defense, then there will be a lot of games like last year. So to have another good 9 or 10 win season, we will be banking on winning 5-7 1 score games. *We haven't seen an off season of preparation without Jeff Wilson. We all know what the offense has looked like without Jeff, but that was on short notice and preparation. I am eager to see what a Wilson-less offense looks like. Not really what it looks like, because I expect a lot of the same concepts, but see if there will be continued offensive continuity and success.
  4. Yeah, my HS were quarters played. And that wasn't too far back, 2002-2005. I think 1/4 of the season was the measuring stick in its totality. Maybe the change has been due to coaches not wanting to track it or the trophy for everyone society leaking in.
  5. This is golden advice that can't be ignored, and under this admin more than likely won't be.
  6. And Texas Tech. Scheduling has improved and there is no denying that. So it just makes Liberty seem that mucg more of a blunder given the trajectory of progress in terms of scheduling. To note, the ACC, MWC, and the AAC has an opponent on their schedule they have to prepare for each year that runs the option. So this isn't an exclusive problem to UNT, so the woe is me can be removed from the narrative. Not saying it's coming from you Aldo.
  7. Let's not get into the business of running fans off. WB did what he thought was right by his coaching staff. I don't agree with it for he should be doing what is right by the fan base. As I've said again and again, coaches come and go. The fans are here to stay...In theory. I get the thought process, just not the details in the execution. And people have the right to bitch about it. He raised ticket prices and added Liberty. Yes, he added UH too, but why not nix Army and buy an additional W at home. Accomplishes the same thing without having to travel to FCS Lynchburg, at all costs to us at that. Buy a FCS W, keep LU travel costs in our pocket and have gate and concessions to boot x 2. At worse, schedule the 1 and 1 with LU but at least get travel costs from LU in the negotiations.
  8. Is this a newer development for both HS and college?
  9. So maybe UNT isn't for her. How the phuk was I suppose to know that.
  10. It's absolute perception. Has she taken engineering classes at UNT yet? If not, what is this lack of substance she is referring to? Or the minimal difficulty? Just seems like an extreme perceptionally based opinion that was formed by chitter chatter than experience. If she has taken these courses and is underwhelmed, I digress.
  11. Yes, that is trendy of this staff. And I don't hate that approach. The only* problem with that approach, and a detrimental one, is that it creates 0 margin for error on getting the guys that you want/need and them having actual success. One positive in this regard, this staff has been able to bring in contributing juco/transfer players with way, way, way more success than the McCarney staff. *The other problem is the cycle it creates and the minimal amount of development and depth that goes void. It also sets up our successor with an annoying and valid excuse from the jump.
  12. I've read this story. Slightly different version. I think 1 month out of NSD last class we were 3rd or 4th. Ended 8th or 9th, maybe 10th.
  13. A highly touted DL can steal snaps day 1 away from that group right now.
  14. Well that's great. I just started clicking on the top 7 or 8 recruit threads and as usual saw commits to everywhere except us. This staff has to go all in on the defensive line this class. Find your guys that you want and go all out on recruiting that single position group. We need it because we have to have it.
  15. Naw. Break into the dbl digits with our defensive scoring and I'll be pleasantly surprised. With the current offensive prowess, that's all we literally need. And from a recruiting standpoint, call me skeptical that will happen.
  16. I don't expect a guy to come here with an OU scholarship offer. I expect us to not lose 8 or 9 out of every 10 recruits to smu though. I expect, going into class 4, to not be banking on FCS offer guys as our basically only sure things. I expect to childs play Texas State for whoever we want and to be competitive at minimum with La Tech on the recruiting trail.
  17. Not panicing at all. Just frustrated that there is seemingly NEVER recruiting momentum in this program. It's always sputtering to the finish line counting on our best guys coming in after their other offers dry up. Now that there is an early signing period these summer months become more important.
  18. To each it's own. Be celebratory in a 5 loss season. I will look as to why we lost 5 and had 5 more we easily could've shit the bed in and very well may in 2018. And the reason, 114th of 129, defensively. And you sit there in your shit staind underwear acting as if the bitching 3 yrs wasn't warranted or something. If being an apologist is your thing as it clearly seems to be, then so be it.
  19. What ifs? I didn't say what if we're a defensive joke. Make no mistake about it, we will be. To your baseless question, 9-5.
  20. Concerning is an egregious understatement. We are going to be a defensive joke. Seth Littrell would be an absolute perfect fit in Lubbock.
  21. It makes perfect sense as in who gives a shit what they're evaluating if their top targets keep ghostin on them when it's time for pen to meet paper.
  22. ...but...don't you dare even consider pointing out the truth of the matter or ppl will downvote you.
  23. This would be a guy we'd need to land. His offers fall in our wheelhouse and in a position of great need.
