  1. I was told we were the home team and will be wearing the black unis as worn against Rice. I am sure that is subject to change, but thats just what I was told.
  2. Well I will be there. And I will be bringing anyone that wants to come with me. On a bright note the ticket line outside of Apogee for students this morning was impressive, given the morning temperature and the time it opened. I would not be one bit surprised to see at least 5-7k students on hand at the Cotton Bowl. What gets me though is this. Apparently there are just over 200k North Texas Alumni that live in the DFW metropolitan area and on a decent year in terms of wins and losses the average attendance was 21.5k. To my understanding that is a record for North Texas football. Either way though 21.5k to me is unacceptable. We have a brand new stadium that holds 30.8k and we could only get to 70% capacity as an average. There are 36k students currently enrolled at UNT and as mentioned at least 200k in the area and we could only average 21.5k. If students, Alumni, friends, family etc. would pack that place, Apogee could be one of the best little venues in the country. We need to beat the rebels, no question about it. This can't be a fluke year and a good way to prove it would be to end it in a good way. Also, this may be off topic, but who is ready to open the year traveling to Austin. By God that would be a huge win if we could pull that off, especially if Saban is there.
  3. Yeah, he was in a pass happy offense. I mean he did play at TTech. But DT is a 5th year senior throwing 13 interceptions to only 14 touchdowns. Baker threw 9 picks to 12 touchdowns. So roughly same numbers with about the same amount of attempts, but the kicker is that one is a frosh playing in far better competition and the other is a 5th year senior playing in CUSA. See where I'm going with this? Also, DT played behind arguably the best O-line in CUSA, and TT's Oline is garbage in terms of big12 football. I am not saying that if Mayfield were to enroll here that he would come in throwing for 3500 yds with 35 Td's, but he would be a nice addition to an already talented QB corp. Also, if he came here than we wouldn't have to worry about him at Rice or UTSA, because make no mistake Baker Mayfield will be a top tier CUSA quarterback. I'd rather see him sitting on the bench or playing at UNT than beating us for the next 3 years.
  4. Yeah man, you have a player that sexually assaulted a child. Cool team. Either way that win for y'all was a joke. Absolute joke. Don't get use to it.
  5. I think DT is the best option on the roster at this point in time, not the best talent. I think if D. Williams will work hard in the upcoming offseason and learn the playbook, check downs, audibles, etc. I think he has the arm to throw for 2500 yards. More importantly though, I think if he becomes smart with the football and can learn to tuck and run I honestly think he can rush for 500. Numbers like that in this conference win conference championships. DT just doesn't do it for me. He throws for 300+ yards against the USM's and FIU's of the conference, and then he'll throw for 150 against the Rice's and Marshal's of the conference. Also, his TD/INT ratio at basically 1:1 isn't getting it done. One play usually won't win or lose a game, but it will change momentum and give the opposition hope. He gave opposition hope against Tulane earlier this year and against UTSA with 3 awful overthrows that were gimme's. One thing that DT is, is smart. That may have been very beneficial for Williams throughout the season.
  6. I think LB and defensive end are going to be the issues here going into next season. IF Anthony Wallace like you said can come in and fill the giant void of Orr then we might be able to keep Akunne at his position. I think Sed Ellis could fill Wrights spot, but he needs to put on a little weight in the offseason. It'd be nice to see him at a minimum 215, but 225 would be preferable.
  7. I chose yes because it is an obvious upgrade from the Belt. However, I don't think the administration or us as fans need to just settle and be content with CUSA. It is an upgrade, but we are located in a very large metropolitan area with great facilities, improving campus, fantastic coaching staff, quality education, fertile recruiting grounds, large enrollment etc. Why should we settle for CUSA. I say ride it out in CUSA for 4-6 years and see what else we can get ourselves into. The direction college football is going CUSA is going to get completely left in the dust eventually. TCU went from relatively unknown to a power conference. SMU got the death penalty not that long ago and are now in the American. Why not North Texas?
  8. This is plain and simple, if North Texas plays like they did against UTSA or Tulane might as well throw in the towel now because we will get beat. If they play like they did against Rice or MTSU then I think things will take care of themselves on the field. Also, the UTSA game was the worse offensive play calling I have seen out of Canales since he took the job. He was calling plays to keep the game close and not to break it open. Granted Thompson missed on 3 deep balls that with a good throws were TD's, but the overall play calling was just vanilla in that game.
  9. Yes, I am interested. He is a step up compared to Thompson. Thompson did what was asked of him, but nothing more. He is not a talented QB, he is a hand the ball off and make easy high percentage throws type QB. I don't care who Mayfield lost to or beat in the big12, it was in the big12. In the big12 he threw for 200 yards less than Thompson in 4 fewer games against better competition. This would be an upgrade and this is something the coaching staff needs to pursue immediately. Not just for increasing our talent level, but making sure that Rice, Houston, or UTSA doesn't pick this kid up. This would be a great get.
