  1. Wait, I’m confused by the wording here. It’s worded like you’re saying not a single player on their roster is superior to a single player on ours. Yes they have a single player who is superior to any of our players. Anyone who gets PT for them is superior to guys like Chrisdon Morgan or Rasheed Browne. Obviously that’s not what you mean. What do you mean exactly? None of their players are superior to our top guys? None of their guys 1-13 are better than our corresponding guy at 1-13?
  2. Absolutely. Which is why I added the context of 20-win regular seasons as well. The last two season we have hit win number 20 by the 24th game and 25th game respectively.
  3. We have now reached 20 wins for the 13th time in school history. Mccasland has 5 of them. Jones has 5 and Blakeley has the other 3. This is also just the 8th time in school history that we have reached 20 in the regular season. 4 of those belong to Mccasland. He has certainly built a Hall of Fame resume.
  4. Great win. Hope there were plenty of people there who went home eager to come back.
  5. Yeah it was. Just not the year they thought it was lol.
  6. These announcers are horrific when it comes to Mean Green lore. Said we beat Texas in the NCAA Tournament two years ago and that Roosevelt Smart scored 40 at Rice that year (it was 3 seasons prior back in 2018).
  7. Good news is they are off to a good start putting together the foundation of the defense for the next four years. Bad news is these guys are going to be 18 this season going against a bunch of 21-24 year olds. What the coaches can do with the guys already on campus will be key for this season, but we got some guys who look like they’ll be able to play.
  8. We really landed just about everyone Morris brought in on officials. Look at the last 3 weekends of official visitors and we got all but the kicker Kim, Dylan Brown-Turner, and Judea Milon who was already committed to Memphis.
  9. If him wanting to go P5 was the main factor here, he could’ve committed to a P5 before us the first time around. This wasn’t his first P5 offer, but they recruited him just as hard as us, if not harder.
  10. Exactly. They’re just going off of what the publicly available record shows which is that he’s still a Texas State commit. Until he officially decommits and changes his commitment to us.
  11. It’s not exactly wrong. He is technically still committed to Texas State. He hasn’t officially announced a decommitment from them or a commitment to us.
  12. Seems like they may have spilled the beans on Starling
  13. Maybe. If he goes to FSU and can’t crack the two-deep then he probably wouldn’t be a good portal target. When we have signed P5 transfers in the past, if they haven’t been guys who could at least sniff the two deep, they haven’t done much better here. The guys who at least pushed to have their name in the mix, that’s the guys we want. Trice, Pegram, Enoch Jackson. If Brown-Turner is like that and hits the portal, yeah could be worth re-recruiting.
  14. Yeah but the North Texas crystal ball was today. The one to Houston was from back in September.
  15. Ja’michael Brown didn’t commit to us as a WR. It’s even worse. He committed to us, and played, for basketball.
  16. As it pertains to us, Brune worked there. Since he left we don’t have anyone on the inside, so to speak.
  17. 6’2” 180 lb QB from Eaton High School. Also holds an offer from Rice. Threw for 16 TDs against 11 INTs with 1,612 passing yards. Added 14 rushing TDs and 962 rushing yards. Assuming this is a QB offer, this is the new staff’s first 2024 QB offer. https://247sports.com/player/noah-lugo-46134814/
  18. Rubin’s shot looks like it has a hitch in it this season. Either that or he brings his shooting elbow further away from his vertical plane and it just looks ugly. Regardless, 9-43 on the season from deep speaks for itself.
  19. Wish we’d give Christian Moore some run. He might be the most pure PG on this roster and has shot the ball well in his limited opportunities. I get Mccasland needs to trust his guys defensively before he gives them minutes, but with the turnovers piling up it seems Moore’s abilities could help with some of our issues, as well as fatigue.
  20. Yes. Perry does for sure. Huntsberry is a little confusing to me on how he still has a year remaining but he is listed as a Senior, not a “5th” or “6th” like the other guys out of eligibility.
  21. Guard listed as a Junior technically has 3 more years of eligibility left after this season due to COVID year and presumably taking a redshirt for this season. Should make it 4 scholarships opening up for this offseason (Eady, Martinez, Browne, Zephir), with 1 already filled by signee Alex Cotton.
  22. It was a tough position but I tend to agree. Football was probably most effected so it made more sense there than basketball, for example.
  23. Right but my point is, why should the player be seen as opting out of their scholarship for the remainder of the school year that they already fulfilled their full obligation of participating in their season? Why should a basketball player who enters the portal after their season finishes in March be granted their scholarship for both semesters while a football player who also played their entire season that school year be only given one semester or scholarship?
