  1. Still like our chances. We've looked like the better team in a lot of respects so far.
  2. 33-34 at half. Should have been leading but some dumb mistakes down the stretch.
  3. The thing is, no one really knows if they are a really good team yet. They had a pretty bad season last year, including a loss to GM's Arky State team. This year while they are 8-1, all their games except Syracuse have been cupcakes. We will be their most challenging "cupcake game" by far. I expect this one to be competitive to the end.
  4. Out-of-conference play is almost over, here is how the conference stands so far in terms of RPI rankings. First column is current ranking, second column is previous: 26 14 Middle Tenn. C-USA 7-2 4-0 0-1 2-1 1-0 59 68 Old Dominion C-USA 7-3 1-2 2-1 4-0 0-0 70 66 Western Ky. 5. We are ranked 187th in RPI now. 6th best in the Conference behind Middle, Old Dominion, W. Kentucky, LaTech, and Marshall. Last year we finished around 320th out of 351 teams if I remember correctly.
  6. And neither has anyone else, and it's just weird social behavior to constantly call another grown man "dad." Not that weird social behavior on here is a first for you, but knock it off with the personal attacks. Especially against well-respected posters on this board. Hate that this thread got de-railed. I totally agree and it's always hard to see the forest from the trees after an embarrassing loss like this. But you risk losing big like this when you get really high quality bowl opponents, and you get high quality bowl opponents by having really good seasons. This teams will build off this season and could turn into something special with time.
  7. Oh really, the guy who very oddly (creepily honestly) refers to the creator of a show as his dad is saying other people have dad/child issues?
  8. Which were both good wins because of the names they beat. Not very good years for either team.
  9. Fantastic win. San Diego was 8-2 and 59th in RPI rankings coming into this game. Winning on the road too. We are going to shock some people this season.
  10. I cannot believe we fouled there. That's just undisciplined.
  11. Man that sucks, overtime. Not over but have to think San Diego has the advantage now. Really bad mistakes down the stretch.
  12. Heard there was a basketball game today.
  13. Man thought these would sell out quick. I know they're college students but this is not much more than I paid for Heart of Dallas my senior year.
  14. If my calculations are correct, combined win totals of opponents defeated by the Mean Green (not including bowls): 2017: 45 2013: 39 2003: 31
  15. Going for $176 a night for that weekend right now...
  16. Not just plane tickets, hotels look outrageously high too. I think it's the short notice and New Orleans is just a lot more of a destination city than it was even in the early 2000's. Would love to make it but may be cost prohibitive this year.
  17. One last thought before this thread hopefully dies and we all move on. FSU & USM have actually played several times in their history and the series is very close all-time-- 13-8-1 FSU lead. Lest we forget and act like we are a superior program to Troy, we are 2-8 against them all-time. Let's just win this thing and make it 3-8. We, as a program, have long ways to go, and we should strive to have the type of success Southern Miss has had in its history. One step at a time...
  18. Doesn't seem fair to their fan base to turn down that opportunity, no matter where it is. I don't think FSU wanted to play them, but maybe it was mutual.
  19. Doesn't matter, they supposedly got "first pick." Means the Indy bowl wasn't on the list of games you can get first dibs on evidently, because it's just a secondary tie-in for CUSA. The team playing in it had to be invited still, and UNT & FAU weren't for whatever reasons. Likely fear of losing to FAU, lack or prestige of both programs, or some combo of both.
  20. Imagine how FAU feels right now. They were the best team in conference by a mile and got snubbed from playing an in-state P5. If anything they got snubbed, not us. This was almost certainly a FSU and Indy Bowl decision. If they were going to lose to a G5, they wanted it to be one that is respectable in their eyes as a program.
